Being a slalom paddler wings were new to me but I found that the featherweights significantly reduced the torque pain in my wrists. Very happy as we’re doing a 100km marathon in Estonia in a fortnight.
As a self-learner of technique with a wing paddle, I observed the motion of hands in front of your camera. Now I see how mine should be moving (in a video, not in paddling as it is down to torso rotation to show this kind of motion) when I record mine. I learn on an inflatable kayak that has quite good performance - not as good as a sprint boat of course. Thank you for inspiration. 👍
Tips: Slightly bend the top arm and lock it during the rotation. Top arm travels not on its own but with a well locked frame. It's full body rotation rather than top arm working independently. 🙂
@@Szechung I'm in the process of developing just that. I spent a few sessions on the water just to figure my catch frame and get it locked for rotation. 😀
Well, I didn't know about this exercise. I'm only learning to use a wing paddle and not even on a K1 sprint kayak. Looks very useful and I'll start doing it. Thank you. 👍
Canoe Kayak advance Course 1999 in the Philippines 🇵🇭 still I remember Mr Szanto Csaba Thanks a lot Sir for all your skilled you shared to the Filipino Canoe Kayak Paddler now I’m residing in the US and still Competing God Bless you Sir and your Family 👊🏼✌🏽
With the Cambridge Hasler coming up, I thought I'd check out some videos. This perfectly depicts my imagination of what is to come! Although the race is early this year, so hopefully there won't be so many punts around.
Hi! Fortunate to find your channel. Really great videos. I saw some rolling classes you did in HK but was around 2012. I’ve been keen to learn rolling but didn’t think there were any places to learn in HK. Do you know if any classes are still around in HK?
Hi I live in the UK but lately I am in HK conducting instructor and some technique courses. You may find me on FB (Szechung Kayaker) if you would like to learn how to roll.
There is a battery concern. The race is more than three hours and I need to change battery for three times, that would be too much time to loose. This footage was taken by GoPro Hero 7 and I actually changed for once with about 20% loss of footage in the middle of the race.
@@Szechung Garmin used to make a powered tripod mount, which is waterproof. With that and an external usb battery I can get 4+ hours even without a battery in the camera. Unfortunately Garmin camera stuff is disappearing from the reseller shops and Garmin will answer every query with “we don’t support that camera any more”. I know, because I scratched both camera lenses last week when my boat blew off my roof rack at a race and the only place I could get replacement lenses (which Garmin used to sell for $40 for a pair) is from a shop in Canada which charges double that and doesn’t ship outside of Canada.
