27:20 Malik Monk tends to do the same thing on some of his dunks. While his dunks are nasty, when he does that it takes away from the style and the finish
@troliskimosko proof u don't read what I say^, but no I dont dislike him. he's not malicious like john, he's just extremely insecure and csnt help it, that's fine.
michael-vy4rv has made like 9 comments on this video alone decrying john evans and what he's done for dunkers/the vertical industry lmao. keep rocking john.
33:20 I think a nice way to think of it is your mean max jump is now around 50 and that means if an outlier performance is 1-2 standard deviations away you've also improved your 1-2 SD. Assuming normal distribution.
@@michael-vy4rv Actually you are listening to him. Quite a damn lot. You’re listening closely on every word he says so you can find something to nitpick. Sounds like fun. I mean that 31:00 timestamp is absolutely wild, you were really locked in
@@michael-vy4rv List of things you’ve said that are blatantly wrong: - “I jump higher than John” Your own estimates for your vertical are based on “head at rim at 6’4””, when 5’11” John also has “head at rim” jumps at his best. So you sure? - You don’t wear crocs, no one does. - “Except that’s not why he jumps high” (referring to Olys and Isaiah) Thinking olympic lifting is not beneficial to jumping makes absolutely zero sense. I can’t even figure out what your stance is on this. Even before I ever heard of THP I thought that was obvious. Haven’t you seen the chinese weightlifting team? They all have casual 40” standing verts while doing nothing but training for or doing olympic lifts. Correlation doesn’t equal causation, but it’s a pretty damn strong correlation. Unless you have a specific reason that you think they do not then I don’t get your point here. - John is a bad coach. This is objectively false. John has increased so many people’s verticals including my own a huge amount and coached multiple athletes to over 48” jumps. John is the only reason I don’t have knee pain anymore despite jumping way more often and at a higher bodyweight than I did before. - “The info sucks” Nah
8:38 classic narcissism from john here. "well i would be jumping rlly high but im sacrificing that for my thp athelet3s!" wow thank u john ur like jesus christ
Yeah this is the worst thing about the fitness world in general. Its like when you cant every single vein on a fitness influencer and people start calling him fat... Ive seen guys go from a sixpack to a four pack and ppl say they fell off
@@michael-vy4rvcan people not be open about how they think and feel? It was your choice to watch the video. Funny also that you spent the time to comment time stamps on John’s short. seems like YOU may be coping because someone has a different perspective than you🥲
@@tiokaneko347 hahahaha this is so good he watched probably the whole video as well since he time stamped 31 mins and then went back in the video to time stamp again based off the time he commented.
Really liked this one. The sacrifice and mental toll trying to push your athletic limits takes was captured well here. Also glad you’re keeping your chin up Austin 🙏
You probably won’t increase your ceiling that much but you can very easily decrease it. So minimizing the decisions that will lower your ceiling in the long run is going to be the best thing you can do.
