@@pushthelimitled7954 hey! Thanks for reaching out! I recently found your Etsy. Are you taking commissions by any chance? Or do you have some links to some of the materials you used?
Sorry to hear that! Can you confirm it’s the 3mm side glow? It’s actually 2mm fiber with a plastic coating which makes it 3mm in diameter. I purchased mine from eBay so it’s possible that different manufacturers have different results.
I really like your LED rebuild of the Falcon - much better then mine, done about 6 years ago. Would you like to see my Tutorial on how to fire up engines of a Z-95 Headhunter? See it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SJfr-r9W1eE.html
I watched the whole video. Very impressed! I have a video that I need to finish editing showing how to put 4 LEDs in the new x-wings with the moving s-foils. Just haven’t gotten around to it yet. But this gave me a little extra motivation to finish it and post it for you all to enjoy! Thank you!
kuraitenshiv I’ve heard of others putting their ship in the freezer for several hours then cracking it open easier. I have not tried this personally but I bet it would help.
Any reason you went with the white engine light when the model uses blue/cyan? And how easy would it be to install the switch either under the cockpit or in the 2nd docking port?
I felt that the white led was more reminiscent of the original trilogy. The switch can be relocated easily but will require a bit a rearranging of the battery and wires inside the model. Thanks!
Just finished this mod, myself. Really proud of it and never would have tried if I hadn't seen your video. I also removed the Phantom I and added the Phantom II in its place. I want to do the C-ROC next.
@@pushthelimitled7954 It's like an addiction now. I want to mod as many as I can. I always liked painting, but this is a whole new type of detailing addiction.
@@pushthelimitled7954 definitely looks like they'd be easier to mount on the copper tape. Thanx a bunch! Great ideas. Plan on using them for FoW wreak and smoke markers
I just started gettin into models on a different level from when i was a kid thanks to covid19..and i brainstormed this idea about a month ago and im so glad i found a video where sombodys bringin it to life..u did an amazing job!! Totally awesome man..im workin on a few different ww2 models, cant wait to add this...this is def the best way of goin about it..once again great job👍
The copper tape is very thin and did not add height to the stack of coin battery and magnet. I used a tin strip because it has springy-ness. i can slide the battery to contact the tin strip and it will stay touching more consistently during use.
PushTheLimitLED thank you that helps, I’m going to try that technique for my next models for hiding the battery. I previously used a lily pad under the base, but your method is much more subtle. Thanks for the Video!
Or you can just take a mold of the whole figure and cast a new one with the wire inserted. I mean if you already have mold making and casting skills :)
