HVAC technician in NC. Just decided to post some HVAC videos to try and help new techs, as the older experienced techs like myself, are getting closer to being out of the field and no longer being a phone call away. Now we will be a video away. “We will never know everything, but maybe what we do know will help.”
Did he say blow some refrigerant. Tis tis, careful careful. Ol Uncle listens and cousin Epa might come knockin talkin bout revokin that lil card they bless you with good sir.
That why I carry the dome sensors on my van! We sell tons of platinum inverters from American standard so I carry dome sensors, and all the thermistors relative to Tam 9/tamx and variable condensers.
Just use a shopvac and dont blow the schmoo all over inside the airhandler. 'itll make the clog worse' no... Its a non pressurized line that gets clogged by sediment buildup.
About like my business. I've got 5 cars waiting over 3 months on OEM only parts. Just junked a perfectly good Honda Accord because the CVT belt broke and can't get parts from OEM or aftermarket. Honda only sells a complete unit and it cost more to replace than the car books for.
Parts are out every where no matter the manufacturer. It's a waiting game on parts. More units break more parts are needed, buy 2 for one, put other in stock, maybe?
Hey Mr. North Carolina Tech, you are definitely a good service technician got no qualms about that but I think that was a Ted Cook cut you know Ted Cook don’t believe in using the wheel puller or nothing absolutely nothing that’s just his way and he’s a good technician too, wanted the best. I will say that, and he holds up the South Carolina area, I guess he does. I don’t see many videos out anymore, but maybe he still making them talk to you later catch you signing out from Tallahassee Florida.
Yeah, I’ve talked about pullers in the past and I try not to use one myself, but this thing was stuck like you wouldn’t believe and the only thing that was gonna get it off was that puller or that Milwaukee power tool that he uses. Since I don’t have one of those, I used the puller. He still puts up good videos, just spaces them out a little.
I’m not gonna repeat what all the comments have said. I usually cut and clear with nitrogen near the evaporator blower outward, if I need to replace the tiny section of pvc and male to female fitting they’re cheap enough.
Just hope the guy that installed your AC wasn't lazy and glued your pipes together if not you'll have the possibility to blow them apart shop vac is the way to go IMO
If you have a bad clog can you blow air back through the line you're going to blow water all over the place go to use a Shop-Vac in are inside a Shop-Vac outside sucks it out pretty damn good this came from a guy's been doing it over 40 years
They didn't get the money by carefully spending. They got it cause someone gets big paychecks. But ... that's not a reason to upsell anybody. I don't blame them for wanting to be sure , maybe the previous tech was young and in experienced looking , they want the old salty dog to confirm. Good work.
Being able to do this is not nonsense. It's being able to get a homeowner cooling in 95 degree weather when the new coil is not in stock and on back order for 3 months. I am sure your customers appreciate you leaving them hanging because you think doing something is nonsense. Last year I bought the InfiRay P2 based on your vid/ recommendation. Is this TP2 better in your opinion or about the same? I’m always interested in your opinions. As we now say in America, gracias!
Those are junk, unfortunately, I've had them, and eventually they mess up the refrigerant levels. They make a 90* low-loss fittings that they sell at every supply house...they work perfectly.
@@myHVAClife Distance from target? I believe he is or may be asking. I was thinking will this be accurate enough to image register temps mounted in vaulted 10-12 ft. ceilings? Or does my short lil body need a step ladder to get up close? Thanks...
All that did was blow the obstruction away for a moment. It will clog back soon. Clean the obstruction and problem solved. This happens to furnaces with AC alot. You have to clean the rust out of the drip pan. Or the debris from what ever that tube was being clogged by.
We had a home warranty when we purchased our home, and used it twice both techs were a scam, never again. Do yourself a favor and prepare yourself for any major appliance in your house to completely fail find out replacement cost and work towards saving that money, you can start with an emergency credit card just don’t use it unless you absolutely have to
