Welcome to Michael Mathieu Vibrant Health
👉 My initial training was in electrical engineering and I worked as a research engineer for Eastman Kodak Company for five years. That work developed my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. That combined with my big heart, my own body issues, and my passion for being of service led me to become a bodyworker/manual therapist.
A lifetime of digestive and health issues has been an amazing teacher to me regarding various aspects of diet and nutrition and other health-promoting modalities. I cringe thinking how many thousands of dollars and how many practitioners I have worked with over the years often with little success.

After years of eating all the foods I thought were healthy for me but were really hurting me.... I am now lowering my oxalates slowly. I found this interview so interesting. I am new to all of this and having dumping...intense itching, anxiety and heart palpitations. I did not know that about lemon juice so I will be adding more .Thank you both for this awesome interview!!!!
@michael_mathieu_vibrant_health
Good job on finding your way to this information! Did we give the recipe for the lemon drink? Because it’s really good to cut it with bicarbonate so you’re not putting a big acidic load on your body Sally’s recipe is 2 ounces lemon juice, 1/8 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate, 1/8 teaspoon potassium, bicarbonate, and then add water close to about 8 ounces total volume of the drink. Have you come across information on the detox baths you can do for a whole bath or for your feet?

New subscriber. Thank you Michael for having Christi on to share her story. I had been following Dr John Mcdougalls The Starch Solution for a very long time. I would basically eat white potatoes and or sweet potatoes for every meal. I had recently purchased a juicer and was juicing carrots and greens with fresh turmeric root and beets..Also making green smoothies after watching Dr Brooke Goldners videos. I would buy those big tubs of salad greens thinking I was so healthy. Chia seeds in my water to make me "feel full". Then I started having diarrhea after those smoothies, fecal incontinence which I had never had before, heart palpitations and crazy anxiety. My husband and I would be shopping and I would have to leave the store to go get in the car and try and calm down.I felt like I just could not get my breath. I have never in my 60 years of life experienced anxiety and panic like this before. Many times I just felt like I was about to die. Then I started watching Sally K Norton videos on oxalates. Thank God for her. Today is my day 3 of no more potatoes. I am taking it slow as I dont want a dangerous dump. I already am feeling better. The diarrhea is gone. I am feeling less anxious. I hope this is not the honeymoon period and when the dump starts all the symptoms will rage their ugly head again but I will be prepared. I am thankful for your channel Michael.

I have this same thing with the coming and going of anxiety Michael. It's really tough for me too. It feels like Frodo putting on the ring at times. I found out that heavy supplementen of potassium citrate helps with this. Six times 800 mg spread over the day really helps me to lower the anxiety.

Trying to combine a low oxalate with plant-based diet and low carb has been a nightmare for me. But yesterday I came up with a combination that a think will work: water, salt, avocado, lemon eggs. I will give it a try for 30 days and see what happens.

Lord have mercy. Slavs and all Christian Orthodox are absolutely doomed (nutritionally speaking). I honestly dont know how it will be possible to live. Kasha and beets and potato are staples fasting or not....but then a major portion of the year we are fasting from animal and dairy. I better stock up on barley :'( Terrifying...

I finally know why I had such issues with intermittent fecal incontinence. I had idea those superfoods were doing this to me. I went low oxalate to no oxalate 100 days ago and things are so much better but one high oxalate food I didn’t know about is cinnamon and I have been adding to my coffee every morning. Tomorrow no more!

So basically the nutrient dense foods have high oxalates to discourage eating too much of them. And the less nutrient dense foods we can eat, but some of them are high in carbs.

You are both so beautiful here, thank you. One week in of a low oxalate diet after twenty years of the vegan scam. I am absolutely taken a back that all the sacrafices I made were misdirected and now all I see is a push from all directions to eat these toxic superfoods. It's really unbelievable.

Excellent video thank you. Its great to have the oxalate foods broken down. I am one week in to low oxalate diet. Being the "health conscious" vegan for about 25 years total I was prime victim to the superfoods con. I could not...figure out why I was having so many digestive and bladder issues so I would "try harder" which meant consuming more of the wrong foods. It is no coincidence this information was kept hidden from us for all these years. Thank you Sally and Michael for this work. Sally you are a gift. Thank you...

Mine would be one of those stories! As I was gravitating towards ketovore diet, I started snacking on almonds a lot! I also ate baked red beets (yum!) and potato chips. I started experiencing on-going severe abdominal pain. I visited 3 doctors whom I informed about the change in my diet, I had various tests (blood, urine) but wasn't getting any answers. I did have a bladder infection and when I was finished with the antibiotics my family doc felt that I had a kidney stone (ct scan showed a blockage). I even visited a walk-in clinic and shared my concerns there too. Well, the doc ordered specific urine test and it confirmed the presence of calcium oxalates! I started looking around on YT and came across one of the interviews with Sally! That was it! I eliminated everything I ate (kept the meat) and what a big difference! THANK YOU Sally!!!!

Michael, you are such an inspiration. I recently subscribed to your channel, after seeing you and Sally on an ox video. I am 6 months lo ox, trying to heal bad knee/calf joint muscle pain, among other things. I'm struggling so listening to your guests discuss their journeys, is very helpful as we do have our own stories to tell. Keep sharing with us and let your guests know how inspirational they are to many of us. 😊

Thx Sally and interviewer…. I learnt a lot, however as I have been keto for 2 years, I’m compelled to consider low carbs as well…. No big deal tho and my culinary skills are even better now that I have a handle on oxalates…. Actually I’m actually thankful of my recent hospital admission for kidney stones…. NEVER again tho!

Hello, thank you for this wonderful series. I am very sorry to hear both of your stories. Mine is luckily not as severe, but it is no picnic either. I cannot remember how I found the oxalate information which led me to you, but after intense and oftentimes confusing research as a laypersin, I am happy and relieved to have landed here. You mentioned alka seltzer but I am in South Africa and we don't have it. We havea product called citro-soda for UTI's and kidney stones which helped me just recently before I even knew what was going on. It contains sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid, citric acid, sodim citrate. Could I use this as a substitute for alka seltzer?
