At least a UPS driver can afford a confirmed first class or business class ticket. A new generation pilot cannot afford a bus fare due to outstanding student debt repayment. The UPS driver is much better off financially. UPS driver makes more than a major or cargo airline aircraft dispatcher and A&P aircraft mechanic.
I loaded those package cars and other jobs with UPS for 15 years. Now retired. Keep up the good work. I also was a VP for an Electronics Mfr. and everyone at the other companies in the building met the UPS at the shipping platform to help him out.
I wish I can post a picture of some of our drivers pickups. The load looks like somebody tossed a grenade and ran away. Some of those guys been with UPS for over 30 years. I even leave them bags behind the driver seat. They still refuse to use them.
i dont know whats so crazy about this ? this looks supper chill and easy :D i work in Denmark for GLS and we have to pack our car in the morning with like 400-700 parcels with 100-150 stops and after we finish dilivery all the parcels and stops, then we have like 20 pickup places where we pickup about 300-500 parcels again and then drive to the terminal spending 2 hours to pick up full truck in one pickup place, i would never get home, i spend like 1 hour to pick up 20 places with 300-500 parcels total and in the morning when we have to pack our car it takes a bit longer to pack 400-700 parcels like 2 hours bicouse it has to be organized, we dont have shelves like ups, so everything is just together.
and didnt mention that we meet at work in 4 or 5 in the morning to start load our car and then we finish again about 3 - 5 in afternoon but it depends ofcourse what time of the year it is, november december is crazy, its like 12-14 hours a day we work, when the black friday hits, its work from monday to sunday and from monbday to saturday, its like 160 hours in 2 weeks at that time of the year
I work for one of the Largest Couriers in Canada and my day is so much like Yours . People don't realize that its not just Driving but its a Brain Drain every day. You cant go home until everything is Finished, Managers go home before you do quite often ,and why do drivers have consult with other Drivers to help them? That should be the Responsibilities of Managers
I drive for fedex. I have a good route compared to a lot of fedex drivers. Plus make more luckily. But not nearly what you do probably. I make about 55k a year. Some drivers at my warehouse work for contractors who only pay about 120 a day or so. I do a bulk route that has a lot of packages (f650 straight truck ) but imo it’s easier than delivering a home route. But I wish fedex would pay like yall. We do the same job. I’d switch over to ups if I could drive straight away. But everyone says you gotta work as a part time package handler first. N I can’t live on part time money plus don’t wanna get up that early. Anyways , awesome vid.
Thank you, sir!! Ive been looking for helpful videos, because I want to become a UPS driver, and this video is most helpful!!! After searching, im EXTREMELY THANKFUL, to have found your vid!!!! 👍 New subscriber here!!! 😁🤗☺️👏👏👏 WELL DONE,SIR!!!!
My first week I didn't buckle my seat belt on my residential stops and got dinged 68 times. My supe laughed at me and told me not to let it happen again. The next day I completed 120 stops with my seat belt on. I think they knew what was up lol.
Well put together video but.....I had a P10 that you couldn't see through let alone walk into, both at the beginning and the end of the day. Not even enough room for the handcart and multiple times packages stacked on the steps going back to the center. It was a mall route with 160 stops, 500 packages and about 70 stop pickup with 900 packages, many broken springs on the truck. Crawling down the top shelf to reach the next stop like a tunnel was normal. I had fun but eventually got tired of it after 4 decades. Carbon paper records was nicer than the DIAD, same with plywood shelves. Lol
