That roof & ceiling are magnificent. The tatami room is pristine. The woodwork done previously by the Japanese carpenter is superlative. I even fall in love with your blooming white flowers. You are so lucky 😊
What a labour of love and my goodness the end result is breath taking beautiful. You are all master craftsmen and craftwomen. Wishing you all much happiness and good health living your dream. Inspiring.
I had this French real estate agent show me apartments in Tokyo, all dumps they let to foreigners. He looked like someone from a 70s metal band, with a leather brimmed cap and vest. Some tenant had graffitied the bathroom which he explained had artwork beforehand
I built some raised beds similar to yours but lined the inside with plastic sheet to hopefully stop the wood from rotting. I am always interested in your tools as you have things not common here, thx
Beautiful job, love your work. One small note, the first 6 min of the video was hard to watch because of how much the camera shook. You might want to slow down some of those shots.
Thank you so much for refurbishing and re-purposing so many original pieces within the house! I've seen too many house flippers out there buy up old homes with so much history and character, just to absolutely gut them of everything that gave them charm. Seeing you add more wood to the antique doors so that they could still be used gave me so much joy
I have been sending my son the tools you use and assortment of books illustrating Japanese wood work, whenever he has a birthday or Christmas. At my suggestion he has been watching your wonderful videos. He has his own work shop and has started experimenting with these techniques whenever appropriate.
I've seen a ton of home renovation videos and this is by far the most beautiful renovation I have ever seen! I love how you modernized it while keeping the original Japanese aesthetic intact. Absolutely gorgeous!
Excellent video, I am considering buying a home like yours and fixing it up myself. Beginner Fixer Upper, how difficult was building permit process in Japan? Material easy to buy? no Home Depot there I assume. Thanks Again,

Great what you are doing, keep up the excellent work.
A rude question maybe but how much did you roughly spend on the renovation? Because this is a house I’d much prefer over the million dollar modern mansions and the fact you bought I’d for that “little” amount of money is crazy, beautiful video 👍🏼👍🏼
Hello, does anyone know the name of this house type? The main house's roof has many impressive details. As I know the roof maybe is inspired by Heian period architecture, and constructed with Kawara tiles
