The RFA is the peak representative body for recreational anglers in NSW. We represent the interests of anglers in the management of the State's recreational fisheries, promote sustainable fishing practices, encourage the participation of children, secure rights fishing access, encourage recreational anglers to become involved in the well-being of the fishery, promote consultation and communication between government and anglers and promote fishing safety. The RFA of NSW is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation supported by recreational fishing clubs, associations and individual anglers.
Awesome information, I am 64 yrs old . Getting used to holding my breath, but I am not as strong as I thought I was, wow, what a wake up call I had. 6 weeks now in the pool at the Y. Getting much better, thanks bearhunter5
I am not a boat owner yet but one of my major concerns is parking. Just want some general comments from some seasonal boat owners about availability during a summer weekend. Thanks
I'd sell my boat if i had to deal with that. Those guys parked all the way out there are keener than me.If I have to wait longer than 5 min at any ramp it's TOO LONG!!And there's no way in hell I'm staying there if there's no parking too.
Bloody disgraceful. Useless liberal govt couldn't give and stuff about pollution or nature. Ok I know some dickhead anglers leave plastic and cigarette butts around unfortunately but the majority do the right thing and this is typical of the gov looking for the cheap option of sweeping it under the carpet
In Florida the first think to think when it comes to safety is the bunch of assholes running around in boats and jetskis without any concern for swimmers or divers
my brother almost drowned becouse he had too much weights on him, luckily i was there to hold him up and help him get to the beach. He was veery lucky that i was with him.
Recreational fishers are not FORCED to park illegally - it's a choice they make. Our bay is getting pretty crowded boat-wise and fishing stocks have fallen. Building and maintaining ramps is expensive. Closing ramps is a way of getting people to fish from the shore or kayaks and not be wasting fish stocks or the environment on fuel and boats.
What a wanker! Check the date - responsible people would be staying at home - rec fishing is (was) hardly an essential or safe activity during lock-down. The ramp is crowded because it's a beautiful weekend, yet many other ramps are understandably closed. Every vehicle out on the road should be booked - they are illegally and unsafely parked. If you want to change the ramp or rules, breaking the law (or misrepresenting on YT) is not the way to go about it - that's not how society works. Do some fundraising and petition to have my taxes spent for your recreation.
Question on equalization... When scuba diving, I used the Doc Thompson earplugs (perforated, so it allows the pressure change to the ear, but slower). What is people’s experience with these in snorkel/spearing depths and dive patterns?
Even experienced divers make mistakes. The day you think you know it all, is the day mother nature will slap your face. Stay safe guys, arrogance has no place in diving!
I've seen a badjao spearfishing in the sea without undergoing any training , without wearing diving suit and snorkel but he seems better than you, guys. Lol
Join a club in your area or try and get a friend to come out with you. They don't have to have all the fancy gear, just fins, a polespear, mask and a bag.
Nice work guys... Need to say few words though... Mistakes been made: 1) In case of a black out, the firstthing teammate shoulddo, is to unleash the belt from the victim 2) The belt is in the wrong position. Never on your waist. Always a little lower... To the hips 3) Don't dive and look the bottom of the ocean. The head must be straight, almost just before you reach the bottom 4) I noticed some dives with the snorkel in his mouth. Never do that 5) Equalisation starts BEFORE you feel ANY pressure and not just right after
I do a lot of fishing under the Harbour Bridge. Are the fish caught there safe to eat. I use to fish a lot near Ryde bridge and was told not to eat the fish.
NSW Fisheries recommends not to eat fish caught west of the Bridge and to limit fish caught east of the bridge...see the details: www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/fishing-skills/fishing-in-sydney-harbour
Aloha Sam: Great to see you after all these years - we chat often but I'm a visual person & thanks for directing me here. 40 years ago I had the pleasure of fishing with you in Kona, Hawaii & on that day (Halloween) you boated two blue marlin that totaled over 1,000 pounds and started a friendship that continues today. Mahalos for sharing & tight-lines
