That would drive me nuts chris. Those vans are meant to be driven for hundreds of miles so everything should be bolted down and cushioned. I loved watching the video of when you got it looks a pure cracker. But now I just really poor quality control. The basics of the shower head, Like wtf mate who’s checked that and even the last part when your sitting you can see a wooden panel that looks like gloss finish when the rest is Matt and the wooden grain runs horizontal when the rest is vertical. Shows absolutely no care in the manufacturing. I hope you can get it sorted
Average speed cameras are a revenue raising cash cow when used like this - I see them all over the country, where lazy councils, or contractors cant be bothered to remove them. Most importantly - glad to see you are out and enjoying the new van - more so given your last vlog complaining about the snagging issues. Your cooking requirements sound like my kids when they were at home - I used to blitz the starter paste for my curry's, purely as both my kids hated lumps, or odd textures in their food.. They still come home for dads famous curry though... lol. And i still have to blitz the paste.
Reject the vehicle and request a refund which must be done within 30 days of purchase or delivery.Cosmetically it’s a beautiful Motorhome. You are right to complain
Having a she-wee is great bit did you know that it's impossible a femato have a 💩without having a wee? Nasa even had to design special loos for female astronauts!
Suspect you may be wrong in folk defending the motorhome, in fact most MH owners will confirm what you have found. My friend has had a Rapido A class, had at least 3 of them all brand new. I thought she was a bit too fussy always taking them back for warranty work, sadly my friend died and left her motorhome to us. I now understand that she was not being fussy, wow what a noisy beast. A lot of its to do with build quality, we too had all the same issues with overhead beds moving and hitting the side of the MH, thinking the window was doing to drop out. Everything rattles, plastics creak, you can even hear wires hitting the inner parts. Cupboards opening on their own, worse still screws stripping out and failing hinges. Not pumping water if there was say less than 30litres of water in it, turns out to be the filter there. Squeaky floor at the back where its probably delaminating, i could go on. All this is a MH that now costs well over 100K and yes you are correct, they pass it off as oh that is just what they do, i used to tell people its like taking the kitchen out for a drive. There is a lot you can sort out, theres a lot you may not be able to but i am sure they can get it so you can live with it.
Hi Both, we use an aeropress to make a perfect coffee in the van. You can use what ever your preferred coffee is and Just need to boil the kettle to make a perfect coffee. No make, no pods and so easy to clean and use.
Chris, just subscribed to your channel. We know your feelings have bought a Swift Escape 674, new in April and we have had the same experience as you with the build quality, one thing after another. We have now lost confidence in the van. Last week we were back at the dealers for more warranty work repairs. While we were there we officially rejected the motorhome, which you can do within 12 months of purchase. After a stressful day of stating our case and negotiations, we eventually were told to choose a replacement, it wasn't easy, we had to stick to our argument and not budge. I hope you get things resolved with your motorhome. Enjoying your videos. Kev & Tracey.
I’m sure I mentioned this road in the comments from previous videos. I have an off grid camp site very near to that location just outside Inverary. (Did you visit the jail?) If you wanna know of it let Me know laddie. How are you powering your fridge off grid? Look out for 4 Land Rovers this weekend around that area 😎
You might have paid a lot of money for this "wreck" but I think the van is virtually unusable and unfit for purpose. (A trained monkey would have made a better job of it). That should be basis of your complaint. Your Contract of Sale was with the dealer, therefore the dealer needs to hear from your solicitor RIGHT NOW, don't leave it, and do not take it on the road until it's fixed or better still......REPLACED by something, and hopefully a better make of van. It does appear too that even the Base vehicle is a bit iffy. If they can't fit a dashboard, so that the glove box works, you are dealing with complete morons.
I had the same problem. Wife was in the back listening for noises. Use lots of Anti Squeak Tape Anti Rattle Tape Black Felt Tape. That also might help your door. For the oven use bull dog clips. I also just replaced the door speakers and lined the door with CANOPUS Professional Car Sound Deadening Mat and that made a huge difference. Now our van is quiet. 🎉
Maybe I won't help but... Coach built is on a chassis cab, you can not compare to monocoque, though there is still some flex in monocoque. 'Plastic' body on a twisting chassis, flex will occur. The body tolerances will be high due to thermal expansion and normal variability in manufacture. I suspect your rattling bed may be a victim of this. If they made it 'tight', with flex/tolerance, it could stick. Seals will 'relax' over time, but should be tight when new, but flex can/will cause whistles even new. Anything that 'sticks out' will potentially cause windnoise, but speed and variation is the enemy. Sorry, but 40 years of experience in automotive resp. for all of the above helps, plus 4 campers/MH's ownership. If I lived closer, I'd volunteer to look/listen. Told you I wouldn't help :) p.s Mobilvetta is owned by Trigano and I have had two Roller Teams with zero 'quality' issues.
That reminded me of the old busses I used to drive, everything rattled, especially when empty, and drove you nuts. But, they were 30 odd years old and were abused, for a brand new van it's a joke and that would need to go straight back for a refund in my books.
Thank you for pointing out the issues you have had. I don't think you're being picky and your opinion is valid regardless of others experiences. This appears to be the result of poor management attitude, and a general attitude fostered by the manufactured so-called "cost of living crisis" ! Recommend not buying anything till we know what the next CRISIS 😱 will be on the 30th October next. 🤔
Re any issues with drop down bed. If it's the same as ours, there's a secret button between the up/ down arrows. Press that whilst pressing up button twice, down button twice, then up button twice again. Bed should reset.
We bought our van two years ago after part exchanging our Vdub. We nearly took it back after two hours it made so much noise. The over inflated tyres didn't help either. We sorted most of our rattles, but we are used to the ones we can't. We didn't have build problems like yours though. At the time the dealer said if you test drive a motor home you wouldn't buy one. In the last two years we have never had even a courtesy call from the dealer as they know most vans are chap. I wouldn't be happy with standard of yours though.
Im assuming you have a compressor fridge to drain the battery in a night? Alright ours is only a factory van build, but our 95ah agm battery lasts as long as we need offgrid, our power usage isnt a lot but the 160w solar normally has it replenished before weve had breakfast. Decent panel mind you even with cloud.
Our fridge runs off gas when we aren’t plugged in or dc when we drive. We having our new electrical system installed at end of the month with 660ah of lithium and a 720w solar so we will be bang on then but the agm batteries they put in are shockingly small capacity for the general onboard bits before you even begin to add stuff
We downsized to a van conversion last year, an IH 630 RL. not for us, took a bit of a financial loss but went back to a coach built. We had a bit of trouble adapting to the lack of space. Our new van has an E&P levelling system fitted. Such a difference. You won’t regret it.,
The speed cameras are there because when a contractor applies to temporarily change the speed limit, it’s for a set period. If the work either starts or finishes early or late then they don’t change it as they have to pay an additional cost. Hence the temporary speed limit stays in place whether work either hasn’t started, or finishes early.
That’s insane really. They should have to compensate people for every day they are there never mind leaving them there when the work is done or hasn’t started.
PDI checks haven't been done properly on m/homes or caravans for years , they would rather you find the problems as its cheaper and less time consuming . Any denial of this can only leave incompetence as the reason .
Personally I wouldn't touch any motorhome with electric beds,I do like the ones in A class models but they're infamous for making noises. Extra sealing washers might help the shower head issue.
Yikes! We're not in the market for something as big as this and yet we found this useful. I wouldn't have thought of jiggling things before buying. Honestly, get rid. This is pants!
great video. Very surprised that you hadn't done the road from Tarbet over the Rest and Be Thankful to Arrochar and Inverary. Well worth an entry in you guide.
Did you stop in Tarbet I’ve spent many weekends there, a real sense of community you can tell the locals cos they speak but visitors don’t 🤷♂️ seriously cute pups 🐶🐶🐾🐾
