Hi! I'm Maya, an Italian living in Krabi, Thailand. Through this channel I'd like to show you the natural beauty of this province, which is now my home, of South of Thailand and, eventually, of South East of Asia. After leaving in Shanghai, China, for almost 6 years, two years ago I moved to Thailand to work for a tour operator based in Krabi, and I've got the chance to travel extensively in the country, and in Asia. I'm a passionate diver, reader and coffee drinker. Go Get Maya will give you a glimpse of my world and hopefully will inspire you to come and visit Thailand, the Land of Smile. Temples, islands, beaches, the turquoise Andaman sea, lovely people, wild animals, hiking paths and waterfalls in the jungle, plus a delicious cuisine: Thailand's got it all!
If you like what you see, SUBSCRIBE to the channel not to miss any updates.
The video was shot in April (2021), at the end of the dry season. The best time to visit is from November until May if you wish to have a very calm and flat sea. From June to October the weather is rainy and the sea is rough.
THANK YOU!! I am planning a trip in Christmas with my family (3 children, 15-19 & 20 yrs) no looking for partying but beautiful beaches in Thailand! I was considering Trang islands escaping from “happy hour” life … which island would you recommend to stay and hotel? Thanks you since there is no much info about theses islands! 🌸🌸
Hi Marta, all the Trang islands are truly beautiful, but for a family holiday I would choose between Koh Kradan and Koh Mook. Koh Kradan has the best beach and snorkeling ( right in front of Kradan beach) , while the Mook Sivalai Resort is in my opinion the best accommodation in the area, and the “Pirate cave” in Koh Mook is an adventure itself. Anyway, keep in mind that you can easily travel between the island by long tail boat on day trip, so even if you choose Kradan you’ll be able to visit Mook and Koh Ngai and Koh Chuak for daily excursions. Another gem of the area is Koh Libong, the beaches are not as beautiful as the other islands, and the sea is not crystal clear since it’s a mangrove area, however the Andalay Resort in koh libong is an amazing hotel and the island is quiet and rural, still undiscovered by mass tourism. You can go for kayak adventures and look for the dugongs that live in the area.

Ho girato questo video all’inizio di Aprile 2021, ma sono stata al Kata Thani in diverse occasioni, è sempre splendido. La spiaggia ovviamente era poco affollata perché in periodo di pandemia, normalmente ci sono molte più persone.
😍SPECTACULAR !!! 😘SALUTE !!! THAILAND 😋Atmosphere is essential to life, I love the vibes of THAILAND ♥ I love Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai (Elephant Sanctuary Adventures), Chiang Rai, Pai, Ayutthaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, Sunrise Beach-Koh Lipe, Maya Bay-Koh Phi Phi, Koh Pha-ngan (Full Moon Party)) Thank you for sharing 🤩 ENJOYED YOUR AWESOME ViDEO ♥
I went to Surin over 30 yrs ago as a kid. I remember my heart pounded as we approached the island because of the crystal clear water. You just can't resist not to jump in. We slept in a shelter that only had 3 walls and a roof and took shower in a little room almost right on the beach that made out of wood and a water barrel in it. I could see the ocean and feel the breeze. My dad's friend caught a hugh marlin on the boat, so we had the marlin for dinner. I also had raw squid that was surprisingly delicious. One of the best memories of my life. I need to go back. Thank God these islands are national parks.
Hi Ivan, thanks for watching! Some of the shoes are second hand, especially the vintage ones from the Sixties and Seventies, but most of them are new. I love Philippines, by the way.
Massa tourism has destroyed Maya Bay, so it is normal that rules are put in place. People don't understand anything without rules, they think they can do anything with their money. To answer Giovanni, swimming is forbidden because bathers trample the coral and sunscreen also attacks the corals. I hope that the rules will remain in force and that this serves as a lesson. When I was in Mexico on the island of Contoy there were also rules, it didn't bother me because I respect nature. Nature belongs to everyone.
Hi Joachim and thanks for taking the time to watch the video. We - Pluto, Giovanni and I - know about the dangers of people stepping on corals or wearing sunscreen that greatly damage the marine environment, and that's why we all think that Maya Bay should have remained close. Not open with the ban of entering the water, but completely closed as it was before. Reopening the beach has not only brought thousands of people in the island, but it has put at great risk the bay behind, which is called Lo Sama Bay, which was a beautiful snorkelling area before.
@@gogetmaya Hi. This is the big problem of mass tourism. wherever he goes he damages everything in his path. The local aurorites often prefer money to their heritage, it's quite shameful and revolting at the same time. Let's not even talk about Europe, in Spain I saw waste left (cans, cigarette butts) by tourists on the beaches. As long as the sanction does not exist, they do not understand.
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolutely horrible experience. Was told by reception that they would give a full refund for a messed up booking where at check in they told us we could not stay for the full reservation duration. We booked another accommodation on the premise that they would give us a full refund. As soon as we left, we find out that they will not honor the refund, which was 2,400 USD. DISHONEST, LIARS.
I’m sorry to hear such a bad experience, I have to say that this doesn’t sound like Kata Thani typical behavior though. I’ve been to Kata Thani on several occasions and they have always been professional, I hope they will meet your refund request in the end.
Do you people from the world to go drinking on your bed ?? Infact,Thailand has prepared many and many beautiful beaches for all tourists to swim. But not this awesome Maya bay 🙏 Sorry !!
Hi and thanks for commenting. I'm not sure I understand what you want to say. I understand that not allowing swimming in Maya Bay it's aimed to protect the marine environment, what I'm saying here is that Loh Sama Bay has now became a messy place, infested by boats and traffic, and so it seems that in order to protect Maya Bay, the devastation of another beautiful corner of Phi Phi Leh is now happening. My solution? I think that Maya Bay should have stayed closed.
So glad they organised and changed the way tourists are allowed to visit this popular and beautiful location, and to preserve the nature there. Maya Bay is now so gorgeous.............. a must visit travel destination.
Hi and thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. Thailand is slowly reopening to international tourists, and I'm quite confident that by January 2022 most restrictions will be lifted. Fingers crossed for your holiday at Kata Thani.
Hi Daniel, I visited Similan and Surin in January, then again in February 2021. I travelled to Khao Lak first, then booked day trips from there, since at the time no daily tours were available from Phuket, due to the pandemic emergency. Only a few speed boat companies were open at the time, and the tours were very well managed.
@@Asd-kn5yg I live in Krabi so I just drove to Khao Lak, however the closest airport is in Phuket. It takes about 1 hour by car from Phuket to Khao Lak.
More than 38 million international tourists visit Thailand. Compared to only 8 million for PH with over 7000 islands LMAO Here we see one of the reasons why.......
Hi and thanks for watching! I'm surprised to hear that it was busy when you went, since the last two times I've been there (January and February) they were empty apart from our 2 or 3 boats. Have you been there around Christmas or any Thai big holiday?
