Looks like an old L150 loading the sand. I had an ex Military RL Cargo 4x4 on Muckshifting work once, swapped the Motor out for the 330 Diesel and it was an even better Truck. Cab rotted out in the end. Still sold no problem though.

great video, my dad drove a lot of these, only let down for me, was the music, much rather have heard the engines, but still, thats just my opinion, one of the lorries my dad drove was a AEC 6 wheeler tipper, and that sounded great, thats why i prefer engine sounds to music.

Worked on these when I left school in 1966, W & J Wass Transport , Longton. They had quite a few Kew " Surrey " Dodge tippers as well, happy days !

We had one of these in 1967. Very noisy Perkins engine had to shout in the cab. Main problem was poor brakes but one of the fastest 10 toners around.

As a young apprentice I was sent to Gardner for 6 injectors, they all had to be returned in their own little wooden boxes, I was turned away being told they didn't sell them I rang my boss and he told me to return and ask for atomisers which I then got no problems 😤

@@matui6983 bet they are tongue and grooved boxes...
@matui6983
@matui6983 Год назад
I think only one maybe two are tongue n grooved on the bottom. The rest (and theres a lot) are just very very well made solid little boxes. The other great Gardner box is the wooden box all the engines spares used to come in. Got a few of those too. Again well made and I still use one to this day to hold all the special tools needed to rebuild Gardner cambixes and governors.

I filmed and edited these videos with my Dad back in the early 2000s, We often talk about starting back up, we have an archive of fascinating footage of working classics on road, owner interviews, show footage etc, maybe one day we will start editing them again, and make a Classic lorry news channel on RU-vid, unfortunately it’s takes lots of time and money, shame we have 1000s of hours of interesting footage collecting dust.

Great video, lovely lorrys. Tough motors Bedford. We had a TK tipper for years, tough as old boots and never let us down, kept it well greased and changed the engine oil regularly. My old dad used to say, grease is cheaper than bearings, he's initials were TK.
