Vintage Dodge lorry LAD Cab DVD 

From the U.S.A. , congratulations !! What an impressive, well kept piece of history.

I drove a dodge tipper truck in the late 60s. The firm I worked for didn't maintain their lorries, so the one I drove was a bit of a heap. There was a lot of fly by night haulage firms in the 60s. When I see the beautiful trucks of today I'm a little bit jealous. The Dodge belonging to the Arrowsmiths is a beauty.

I filmed and edited these videos with my Dad back in the early 2000s, We often talk about starting back up, we have an archive of fascinating footage of working classics on road, owner interviews, show footage etc, maybe one day we will start editing them again, and make a Classic lorry news channel on RU-vid, unfortunately it’s takes lots of time and money, shame we have 1000s of hours of interesting footage collecting dust.

Worked on these when I left school in 1966, W & J Wass Transport , Longton. They had quite a few Kew " Surrey " Dodge tippers as well, happy days !

my dad drove the same type for wilsons transport. in Manchester they where under the arches in old Trafford

i can remember this motor back in the mid eighties on my daily trunk run up the A41 'always looked a smart well kept lorry back then i don't think my poor old Daf 2500 artic unit back then 'would still be around today.

We had one of these in 1967. Very noisy Perkins engine had to shout in the cab. Main problem was poor brakes but one of the fastest 10 toners around.

My first truck i purchased was a k series 13 ton gross tipper wich i paid the sum of £300 for in 1970/1 i think the payload was about 8tons

Is it still working for a living in 2024 ?
