I read a book 25 years ago that affected my sleep and, my daily life in general...for weeks. It was called 'Obsession: The FBI's Legendary Profiler Probes the Psyches of Killers, Rapists and Stalkers and Their Victims' by John Douglas. It was my introduction into the world of true crime. It was downright terrifying. Now, if we're talking about spooky books, I have to say that Jason Rekulak's book 'Hidden Pictures' had me looking over my shoulder while reading it at night. 😆
Ooooh, a haunted hotel! 🏨 😮 IT is fantastic! One of my favorite books by Stephen King. The next time I read it, I’ll need to listen to it on audiobook. I read Helter Skelter a long time ago. Terrible, especially because it was true. 😢
The September House by Carissa Orlando and We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer. Both of these books are super creepy and could keep people up at night!
I am so excited for this video as I will love it as I love you both and I wish I could be there for your get to gether please say love to everyone else for me please
My mom knew the Tate family, they lived down the road. I've seen a ton of documentaries about it, but never read the book. I need to pick it up. It would take some pondering, but Ann Rule's book, The I-5 Killer, it exactly scared me, but I put it down for a few weeks when I got to a scene that turned me upside down, I surely never would have pictured it, and with his MO, it took me for a loop. I couldn't get the scene out of my head.
Ummm…I like Simone St. Jame’s writing. I’ve read three of her books without losing sleep. I own The Sun Down Motel. Now I don’t know if I should ever listen to it. Regarding Helter Skelter…I told you so. 😂
Helter Skelter was! But the one that got to me the most was The Boston Strangler by Gerold Frank. I read this when I got my first apartment by myself🥴🫣
I personally didn’t think it was necessary. Someone did describe it as a “bridge to the next step” which…I guess. But even Stephen King said he wishes it wasn’t in there, lol!
Sounds like Non fiction November might be for you!! ❤ The prompts are CODE, PATH, SHOT, and JOIN. Be creative in choosing TBR. Also a fun way is to pair a fiction that corresponds with your NF choice .
Im pretty behind this year on my reading goals. My goal was 80 and I’m at 45. I’ve done reasonably good about keeping up with my book club which was one of my goals. It’s ok. I’m gonna try to not feel bad about it if I’m not 100 percent finished with all my goals at the end of the year.
I only set one reading goal for that year and that was to read 82 books and I have surpassed that goal. Next year I want to set more goals for myself that focus on me reading physical books that I already own and purchasing fewer books.
Yes, we want pet octopuses after reading that. But alas... Have you read Of Time and Turtles yet? Loved Daisy Darker! It was a definite "wait a minute... what" for me, through the book.
This is the first year I made any goals. I started out easy with a general goal of 48 books this year. In February I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and have undergone a complete hysterectomy, port placement, 6 rounds of chemotherapy (just completed yesterday.) I will move on to radiation treatment in 4-5 weeks. With all that going on I am so proud I am ahead of my reading goal! It has been hard, because some weeks I was not able to focus on and remember what I was reading (called chemo brain.) Your videos gave me several suggestions for GOOD books to read. I’ve got no time to read bad books! Thank you Sarah.
You're doing great! ⭐ My 2024 goals are: reading 100 📚 (✔️on track); with 50% or more 📚 from library (~40% now); + trying 12+ 📚 outside my comfort zone (✔️on track). Happy reading! 📚❤️
Part of goal checkins is to assess and adjust yearly goals. A year is a long time and life happens. What may seem important in January may become unimportant later on. Knowing why you aren’t meeting a goal can be valuable. (As in your Harry Potter goal).
You’ll love the whole series!!! She has another series out and a new book that just came out! I’ve read her almost to zero at this point! All of her books have been five stars for me! The other series Elsie has is called the Gold Rush Ranch series
If you like books on Octopus than I think you would like Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelb Van Pelt. It's very heartwarming and it is one of my all time favorite books! Secrets of the Octopus is on my list to get!
Hi Sarah I need to read a Kate Morton Book. I have The Secret Keeper written down. I am listening to Sprinkle With Murder by Jenn McKinlay. It is so good and is funny at times. It’s a Cozy Mystery. Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗🔰☕️❤️
