A channel for basic DIY Garage fab and Winky the Volvo, a home built daily driven sleeper, Blinky the Miata a home built track day car, and for anything and everything racing and general fun. We are a family that loves horsepower and fun toys. From dirt bikes to drag cars and even air planes, we love doing it all. We are currently starting the build on my wife's 92 S10 short bed, to make it a street driven drag truck. Stay tuned for updates as we hopefully grow the channel.
more than likely. it was a low side and the front clearly washed out. probably not the abs model, and if it was, the fuse was pulled. Locked the brake while adding lean, basic mistake; easy to analyze in hindsight hard to realize in the moment, glad the rider is okay hope the bike is good to go to keep getting better because that's what the track is for B)
According to the rider as I loaned him my camera for the session, he hit the brakes and the front locked, which according to him is a common issue on overheated Ninja 400 brakes, I certainly have no info on that though. In the video and I am not sure if any of that footage is in any of the crash edits I uploaded you can see on the ground behind him where the front locked and laid rubber for a pretty long time before he lost the front. It has been a while since I watched the footage in 360 but if I remember he lost the front when he was about out of track and didn't really have any options as he was at the turn in point so point of no return really. The rider has no fear of running right off the end of the track and has went into the grass before without issue so I do find it hard to believe after watching the video he just grabbed ALL of the front brake and never let go, of course that is a possibility.
Amazingly enough he's fine. He has a tiny bit of road rash on his hand but the glove rubbed on the ground for a long time so that's 100% acceptable in all of our books. The bike isn't bad at all. The front brake warped and locked the front. He's a young rider so he still bounces.
Yeah, thankfully that's not me. It's my son's buddy who's dad also does track days with us. It's great to have a father and son duo group of riders. He only has a bit of road rash on the pad of his hand. Pretty small injury considering the abuse his glove and hand took. His foot was a little sore yesterday but other than that he's fine. The gear did his job. This was over 100mph. Overheated the brakes and when he braked for turn 1 the front locked and his kept it up for about 100 feet according to my insta360 footage. Then boom. The other video I posted has a slow motion at the end and damn he went for a ride.
We found it right when we were about to give up lol. It’s my dad’s camera, the one who posted, but it was my buddy who went down. He just got his hand pretty bad but he said he felt fine today thankfully. Hopefully we see you back on it there this year, was great having you as our coach!
@roymoreaux5834 You two were ripping in the afternoon and were awesome students to work with. Was bummed to watch both of you go off that last session but if you two keep riding smart out there you'll be bumped in no time! See ya around!
@@bteske3 I was riding the KRT 24 ZX6 and I really enjoy going out on the track with my son and the other father and son team. Group 3 was a cluster in the early sessions, I was like damn, I needed to be in group 4.
It’s a road bike mate not a dirt bike. Try leaning into the turn instead of going straight. All of that drama like you’re a real rider going fast or something?!? I’ve crashed harder on my bicycle!)
this happens bro! I've been there I've done that. If you ended up with no injuries, everything else is irrelevant. This road is not the best to practice, learn how to drag your knee at some parking lot and come back. You will have way more fun.
Hello, Rider! Love this clip! Would it be OK if we used it in a youtube video we're making and maybe share it on our social media? We'll credit you in the video and all descriptions. Thank you! :)
Typical mistake ! Too many people do not know how to ride through a curve ! Do not ride thinking all you have to do is lean , turn the bars opposite directions that you want to go and tgis will not happen
Yeah this rider got distracted and boom. After talking with him and watching the video and seeing him look down, right before the corner, i believe he spooked himself thinking he was going too fast into that corner and that he was going to wreck that he did exactly that.
@@winkyfab2860 when you look at the ditch , you end up on the ditch! Too many people make tgis mistake ! They panic and turn the bars the wrong way ! On a bike if you turn the front wheel right you go left
Hey mate, is it OK to feature your clip in a moto edit some time soon? It will be credited in the description & comments section with your name watermarked on the clip. Thanks, MM
To me this seems to be an issue of an inexperienced rider on a very technical stretch of road. Maybe work your way up to this. Granted, never saw the appeal for these 'tourist' biker places myself.
Absolutely. This was a newer rider and I warned him about how these roads were not like anything he has ever ridden on before. He just happened to have my GoPro on his helmet since I was using my Insta360 to film myself and my son.
Thanks! I ride a lot slower than I did before my back got screwed up. My oldest son was behind me dragging his knees in a lot of corners but still couldn't catch me. 😂
@@winkyfab2860 theres no way!! seemed like dude was being easy on the pedal. either that or that truck needs major tune up. Your supposed to romp it to a certain rpm. My '99 2500 burb with the same setup (454/4l80 and 4.10s) does 0-60 ......in 6 sec FLAT....... I know form experience building low end torquer Pontiacs ,.......350 lb of torque is NOT enough to move 6,000 lbs of cast iron that fast. these L29s were def underated from the factory, mine has at least 450 and thats an understatement.
