Your multimeter works by measuring potential difference between 2 points. When you were measuring L1 and L2 to ground you were getting 120v because your meter is comparing 120v to 0v ground (120 - 0 = 120). When you measured L1 against L2 you got a reading of 0 because the same 120 was feeding through the 2 terminals (120 - 120 = 0), which is what you were talking about when pointing out the breakers and the incorrect wiring. On a properly wired 240v breaker, if measuring between L1 and L2 you get 240v because you have 2 opposing legs of 120v. I don't want to dig too far into electrical theory and what is actually happening in split phase circuits, so this is a very basic interpretation, but I like to picture it in my mind as a positive leg and negative leg. Plotted out on a number line, -120 and +120 are 240 apart from each other. Word of advice to anyone watching, a reading of 0v does not always mean something is safe to touch. Always compare to ground. Also you can use that multimeter to test your contactor. Disconnect the low voltage connections from the side, set your meter to continuity/resistance, and place a lead on each low voltage connection on the contactor. 1 on the left and 1 on the right. A residential contactor will usually read somewhere between 8-20 ohms of resistance on the coil. Anything less than 1 ohm on the coil is a short that will burn the low voltage fuse at the indoor equipment.
Almost a visit to that guy in the sky. Power where there shouldn't be ....yikes, good thing for the idiot beeper. I always carry one in my shirt pocket when messing around with electrical.
You really get your hands dirty, most people won’t even touch anything that look like mold. I work in maintenance in a manufacturing plant and I’m the only guy who is left and we started with 6 guys. Nobody wants to work.
wow that mold is super gross. I was thinking I could vomit if I was in that room. never seen mold that nasty on a wall before, glad your handling it. my parents lived in an apartment that had some mold in the walls. even when the maintenance man discovered it they did nothing about it they just covered it back up. super lazy. mold is no joke it can be dangerous
Poor cat, I have two and I try to get a head count when I leave to make sure they are not locked in a closet. Great video, thanks for sharing! Have a blessed day !
I dont blame you. That's why I started to grow some vegetables at home. You go to some stores and the vegetable and fruit section is just picked through. Plus it doesn't lasst long.
Most of the time when I eat that processed crap from the grocery's stores I end up sitting on the toilet with the runs sort of like the Big M, Its not good for people. I dont think the dogs even like it much. I grow some of my own food and it never puts me on the the throne in discomfort. Ya cant beat corner butchers , they always seem to know where to get the good local beef/meat etc. I guess their business relies on it.
Edit: I'm still happy to see it done without following the Chilton's instructions for changing those two out.* I went through the same thing. California emissions exhaust. Throws all your previous knowledge off to the side
The bottom box will be under the stove in the open space the top box will cause the plug to stick out to far keeping the stove away from the wall about 4 inches.
Highly suggest perfect 90 or straight 90 they sell it at lowes it's basically corner bead on a box that can be used like paper tape. Thoes knipex cobras could have easly done what that pipe wrench did once you push on the top you don't have to hold the bottom handle. I use mine on rusty and crusty copper black iron all the time with large cheater bars (ussaly leaded pipes). One time on a car we had a destroyed cv axel nut and we put 8 foot of pipe on a pair of 10in cobras and jumped on it. What a mess that mold can be glad you hold that complex to a reasonable standard and not let them get away with ghetto fixes.
Could you have put the stove outlet on the right side of the stud and move it up, that it would not be under the washer box plus you would have not had to rework the drain. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed evening !
It’s not American made. They are stationed in Texas , But they say the chemicals are made in the US , And the pipe wrenches vises are made at their facility in Europe & they have a facility in China . They are working hard to build up proper infrastructure here so the product can be made in the US only.
