I’m so glad I watched this! My mom passed away 2 years ago and I took her overgrown aloes. I cut so much of the roots off and immediately potted it. I’ve been so worried because I thought I should have let the base get a callus first before potting. I’m so relieved now! I just repotted it 2 days ago and have been panicking 😂.
I’m so sorry about your mom😢. Aloes are very hardy for the most part. As long as you don’t water until you’re sure it has rooted, it should be fine. I very rarely let things callous off before I plant them. We have very low humidity here so it’s not a problem. 😊

I really enjoyed watching you water and talk about all your various plants. I live in Stockton, CA. I am a first time succulent planter. I was so very worried because so many of my succulents have gotten burnt and look like they are dying. It has been soo very hot lately. I think I was overwatering because I was worried about the heat and sun. ☹️ Thank you for your knowledge. 😊🙏🕊️👋🏻
The joys of being able to use a hose to water all your succulents. Perks of growing outdoors. Mine are mostly all grown indoors. And the few I have outdoors on my deck and in my Mushroom Fairy Tree Stump makeover area I never have to water because it’s so humid here in summer. If I water they will just rot. And I agree with you, those hoses are for the birds. Most are. Using hoses are all a struggle. They are a pain no matter what you choose to buy. 😅 Thanks for sharing!

@@NancyUkshe oooh! That’s a good idea. I hadn’t thought to paint that. When I painted the table and chairs, I got enough paint to paint the big cart on the end but still haven’t gotten it done. I also paint the shelf on the porch.

Ooooh! I had it all wrong. I thought the saying was, "every garden needs a garden gnome." No wonder my plants keep dying! Off to the garden center I go to find myself a garden phallus. 😂
Hang in there! Days will get better. You have so many things happening at one time, and this brutal heat showed no mercy. You have beautiful plants that still look great. Take that dive in the pool. 😊 One day at a time.

I live in Sacramento and my dad is in Stockton. I havent gone for a while but I loved to stop by Star Succulent Nursery on the way to visit my dad. He is about 20 minutes from Ripon so Poots would also be a favorite of mine. Hopefully i can make a run to both soon. I recently found your channel and am enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing!
I think we live near each other. I'm up in Yuba City CA. I know we're the same zone. Also a RN of 20 yrs. I agree on the ER. But if he has a primary doc or even urgent care they may be able to help. We do ice/ lidocaine patches (OTC). But they could prescribe some Flexaril a muscle relaxer and gabapentin which helps with nerve pain and rib fractures. If he keeps hurting that may be another option for you guys. To avoid the er.
@@victoriaeskellington thank you for that 😊he did go to urgent care and got checked out had x-rays. He was given meds but is still in a lot of pain. He has a follow up tomorrow with his regular doctor
Thank you for the video. I appreciate the time you take to show your plants. It's hot and not fun being outside. But I do love succulents and cactus, and so far they are surviving this heat. Hope your husband recoups quickly as well as your farm animals. 😊
Were having above average temps in Tucson, AZ. 112 today. Some of my plants are struggling too. Hope it cools off soon for you ! And Dave is well soon!
