Are you using stock n/a turbo down pipe before catconverter to turbo ? I heard it bolts right up ? Any help info would be grate just got my first celica gt planing on doing turbo

Hey I dont expect you to respond to this, but do you know if it would be possible to use the knock module and the microsquirt (as well as a knock sensor from a newer motor) to allow an older rev 1 5sfe (without a knock sensor) to retard the timing when knocking?
Yes you won’t have a “knock sensor” threaded mount like that is on the 92+ stuff however there are other threaded mounts that you can place it. Sound travels pretty easily so as long as it’s not mounted on a noisy component like the head or power steering pump it would work.
I agree with you on the automatic part. But only half agree with you on the base only due to many people saying that the K20a3 is great to turbo since it has a low compression rate. As an 03 5spd owner myself this looks really good to me. But the automatic though.
honestly i will rebuild my engine hopefully by rebuilding it it works again has noo holes but lost power sooo i will buy all things is there any aftermarket parts for the 5sfe engine if yes let me know that would really help thanks
Are those NPR pistons? If so, have you run boost with NPR pistons yet? I wasn't sure if I wanted to re-use the stock Toyota pistons and just re-ring them. But the engine I'm rebuilding is from a 99+ Camry, and has the 1.2mm primary/secondary rings. I don't see a reason not to just get 2nd gen NPR pistons and not have to clean anything up, and have slightly larger rings. I'm the guy that messaged you today about 5sfte timing on boost/e85. Hi, so if I am understanding this correctly, we always want to be using the latest year 5sfe oil pump for all 3sfe/3sge blocks? I have a junkyard ST162 3sge (87) and its going to replace my 87 camry's 3sfe. Are there any fitment issues or massaging that will be required or is it truly a plug and play solution?
would I have any issues removing the cruise control on a 6th gen celica? i want to remove it but im not sure if i'll get a check engine light or anything
@@velocityperformance8574 what resources should I use to learn how to take apart a 5s-FE? Anything you recommend? Currently bought a project mr2 and have a 5s-FE that was supposedly fully built. To figure out the stroke and bore I’d have to open it up. Suggestions?
@@velocityperformance8574 Isn't the same 5Sfe motor the one they use in the Camry? I've seen a lot of people's rods go out when they try to turbocharge that engine
@@SakugaAsu maybe I'm not sure if they share the same rods. My 3sfe is making 300hp 20psi stock rods and pistons still. Maybe some years have weaker rods or they over rev them.
Not sure if you are still reading comments on these older videos but I have a question about clocking the turbo down. Is there anything in particular that I need to look out for? Also I’m still trying to figure out how you got the intercooler pipe down in front of the Alternator, I don’t see any room for that at all on mine. I have a 1990 GTS with a 3S-GTE, but I’m going to upgrade to a front mounted intercooler. Also one more question, Did you have to buy a Fuel Pump Relay to get your fuel pump to work? Thanks!
For clocking the turbo pull the compressor housing off and remove the small pin that locates the housing in the factory spot, then you can put it back on in any direction. The wastegate actuator bracket was the worst part about doing it. The intercooler pipe is very tight infront of the alternator, he has all his accessories so it was very tight as well I didn't have any issues with the fuel pump, I would check the fuel pump jumper in the small fuse/relay box by the cruise control
