I still have a 1991 st184r celica, done an engine swap from a toyota camry. The engine is still a 5sfe, but it is a rev 2 engine, much better, more aggressive cams too.
Does anyone know where I can still find headers for my 5S-FE? (1995, Toyota Celica GT Liftback). I've searched far and wide on the internet and nearly all of the headers I've found are discontinued, and nowhere to be found used.
I got the 2.2 motor 95 Toyota Celica it is a race car need more top end power and second gear hits way too soon the revometer I mean have any suggestions on more power and how to make the ribometer not hit
What are the vacuum ports in the intake for? I'm moddifying for a MegaSquirt too, and deleting EGR, CSI, etc. I left vacuum ports for the MS map, Power Brake and Fuel Pressure regulator. I'm I missing something?
That's awesome. So I do have a question or two. I have a gen 1 3sge and my factory 5sfe. I'm wanting to swap the 3s head to the 5s block but wanting to use the 5s intake manifold. Will it fit? And how hard is it to swap the head thanks for any advice.
The 5s-fe and 3sge have different flanges to attach it to the head. It may fit with some modifications. A 3sgte or 3sge intake is your best bet. I’m going to be doing a video on the possibility of building a 5s-gte, the same would apply to a 5s-ge.
For the head 3sge/3sgte they have larger ports and better valve angle that’s going to be better for performance. It really depends on power goals. The block people say 98+ 5sfe blocks are the absolute strongest, and 5sfe in general is stronger than 3sgte blocks, I’m not sure what HP figures are each blocks limits
@@velocityperformance8574 this kinda reminds me of the 7afe block with 4age head. I have a ae101 with a 7afe and I have a spare 7afe at home. I may do the swap a year or so later, trying to get a house if the market goes the direction that works for me
With a programmable Ecu, it be cool to see 140 to the wheels. I don’t know how realistic that is but the real power is when the turbo stuff gets put on.
@@velocityperformance8574 I have a 2000 Toyota Camry LE with the same 5SFE engine. Mine currently needs some seal replacements, but I was wondering what kinda power I could try to push with this? I'm not sure where to start really.
I’m just trying to learn more about cars man, I recently bought my first car, a 97 Camry with this same engine, what are some things I should know just to get started, I’ve always loved cars just never had one I could work on
97 Camry and newer have the strongest 5s engine block. Pistons and rods are a little weak for turbocharged applications other than that they will last pretty much forever. Is it auto or manual?
I’ll be putting it on the dyno soon, I’m looking forward to see what it makes NA before putting the turbo on. I’ll have a video up of it in action when it gets tuned
@@velocityperformance8574 what resources should I use to learn how to take apart a 5s-FE? Anything you recommend? Currently bought a project mr2 and have a 5s-FE that was supposedly fully built. To figure out the stroke and bore I’d have to open it up. Suggestions?
