@@scottmcclary594 ,a 3D printer would definately be nice to have. My original plan was just to make the split wing one piece to just be able to plug in to the stock port, but i figured might as well go all the way lol. The basic shape is super easy to cut out but it took alot of hand sanding to get the wing concaves right
Fantastic job! Mind blown! I'm building my batmobile similar to yours. My question is what did you use underneath the machine guns to raise them up out of the compartment you built? Very clever 👍
@@PatrickDelaneyjawsfan1 thank you! I looked at hot toys batmobile and made a hinge. It was a bit tricky,it had to go back beyond the compartment to work right. I studied alot on how i could make a pop up gun that would throw the cover off but it just wasnt doable.
@@SailorJoe777 ,thank you! I used clear epoxy...i used orange fye and mixed it very weak for the fall and bottom pool. I use red dye in drops and dragged a wire thru it to try to give a flow look. For the chunks of lava at thr bottom im mixed epoxy and a darker red ,let it almost harden then busted it up into chunks and arranged them at the bottom
@@charlesalexanderjr2247thank you for the reply back really appreciate it, the tips will definitely help me out when I start building my custom snake mountain.😊
@@charlesalexanderjr2247 I was wondering how much it weighs. I have the Super 7 set. As cool as it is, it's not worth the original price. I have the Origins set and customized it.
@@somarriba333 ,it comes in just under 70 lbs lol. I have wheels on the bottom. I love the super 7 .but yeah the secondary market price was way more than i wanted to spend
THAT is amazing! It sucks that you weren't able to get the classics set but what you did here is great! I do have the set and as much as I would like to actually play with it, it sits on my shelf. As a display piece, what you created is MUCH better.
@@sva3897 ,thank you! No kit or 3 d printing. I built everything from scratch. Not knocking on 3 d printing but i much prefer doing stuff the old fashioned way. I kinda see 3d as cheating a bit. I looked a long time to find a train that would look similar but any larger scale is extremely expensive. So i just decided to make it. The boiler is a caulk tube, the tinder is a mix of wood, polystyrene, coat hanger wire, the cow catcher is wood, pretty much everything i sourced from laying around the house items.
Amazing how you made the train! I use a lot of 3D printing in my work, but sure know the skills it takes to create without it. A lot of respect people like you who work in the old fashion way!
@@ramsesosirus ,rustoleum ultra matte black. Its has a really good sheen without being just flat. Under light its very close to the movie.( except for there mixture of blues and greens used on the real car) that doesnt translate to good to smaller scale
@@charlesalexanderjr2247 Agree on the beetle paint job not working for most collectibles, I have some Krylon Fusion satin black I planned to paint mine with as I've used it before but it's good to know the Rustoleum has some sheen to it. My stock matte one is just too flat for my liking. Overall, I think this is a super cool Batmobile for the price especially considering the other ones near this size are hundreds of dollars- and I like to customize stuff myself anyways
@@connected5756 cheap, basic dollar tree leds. I made the chassis out of expanded pvc 1/8 sheeting. It has a compartment built into the bottom that houses the battery box and on/ off switch
@@charlesalexanderjr2247 I'll have to look into those lights and swtich. Thank you! Do you have the DC Direct/McFarlane BTAS Batmobile? I'm thinking of painting mine lol
Awesome! Thanks for posting this. I acquired one of these recently and I had the motor and all that stuff switched out so it runs. I got an aftermarket light kit but I haven't put it in yet. The sad thing about these is that the foam tires that came with them are breaking down from age and I don't think that there are any easy replacements available. It's very cool to see what you have done with yours. Yours has the interior and everything. I wish I had your talent.
Wow!!! I've always wanted one of these, I saw it when I was on holiday in Glasgow around 1990-91, it was priced at my entire budget for the holiday, I didn't have a credit card at the time😂 I always had it in my head it was a Cox RC product. Is yours 3 feet long?
@@markjames8603 i wish. Its around 21" comes in smalmer than the mcfarlane. I wanted the whole rc but there crazy expensive. Had settle for just the body but i got it at a steal
I love your channel. It's always interesting to see what you are doing. Maybe sometime if you feel like it you could show off your Richman's Toys Batmobile. You showed it a little bit already but I'd love to see and hear more about it. Thanks!
You did a great job on that, especially the canopy! I'm thinking of ordering one and the canopy is the only thing that really bothers me. Did you repaint the whole thing as well or is that the factory matte plastic/finish? Almost looks satin
@@ramsesosirus ,thank you! Ive actually redone the canopy yet again to make it even more accurate lol. Its a total repaint. I used rustoleum ultra matte black. Its near perfect. Not to dull but gives off a nice sheen.
Finally I been waiting for someone to modify this or the Amazon exclusive one into the bvs version for years now... I've been hoping for a kit but no one seems to make one!
I followed your make Max Shreck I took some modeling Clay and filled in his cheeks. His cheeks being sunk in is what makes him look really old. I can show you some pictures of mine if you want to follow it
@@GageHoepker ,i used a mcfarlane flash movie batman. I trimed down the chest/ torso and added a chest plate from a neca 89 batman. I cut the forearms off and added the gauntlets from the neca. I then used a cast i made from my mezco 89
