Thanks to all viewers. I now have 8000 subscribers. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This channel is about radio engineering. Especially WW2 military radio. And tube technique.
Nicely filmed and presented, looks like you had lots of fun operating the radio in the field. I would have liked more filming on the repair of the radio. Appreciate your time in creating the video. Many thanks.
would so cool if you could continue commenting your video yourself like at the video's beginng. The female voice is nice but not authentic and generic. realised i even liked more your norwegian videos with subtitles.
What a great video and restoration! I have a petrol 2hp, 2 cycle engine from a German military field generator thought to be from circa 1937. I run this engine at antique engine shows here in Michigan, USA.
Very interesting, my father was RAF Aircrew AG/Sigs (Airgunner/Radio Operator) 1939 - '46 PS bearing in mind they were flying at altitude... they didn't use SWR as such, the aerial was a wire on a drum, which was manually unwound until the max. power O/P was registered on the radios power meter
Hej helge det er Hummer. Tusinde tak for din kæmpe hjælp med de to Panzer radioer vi kan næsten ikke vente med at få dem instaleret i vores to Panzer biler Panzer1A og KFZ222
Very nice video, I thought we were going to see a spy radio at first. Very neat construction. I suspect the front lids may have been used for cooking on by the soldiers. Thank you.
Helge, nice video. This radio I did not know till now. Building tank Radios is as demanding as Aircraft Radios. I think there were not many that survived the war. A tank hit by a penetrative Granade is totally destroyed from the inside. A plane, if hit by shrapnel, can make a crash landing. So, there is more chance that the radio survives. Maybe you present us some Aircraft Radios, VHF 43MHz, and there were awesome constructions broadband from 30 to 50MHz all rf circuits tuned by a motor for remote control out of the cockpit. See you..😊
73 de KO4AYC I have just read Leo Mark's book Between Silk and Cyanide and Hemann J. Giske's book London Calling North Pole. Both fascinating reads on World War II cryptography, counterintelligence and electronic warfare intelligence operations. Your channel brings the old radios/communication equipment to work and gives us examples to see. Thanks for your work on these old kits! 73 they KO4AYC
Thanks for all the work Helge. Nice to see the radio details and your work to make it work. Thanks for the radio history lesson! Easier to learn by watching. I am working on a Yaesu FT-401B today. 73
Mr. Helge Thankyou for share the inside design radio, are amazing, the relay, contacts, etc. ¡The variable capacitor!, amazing radio transmitter. Thanks and wait for the next video.
Thank you Helge for stripping down the radio to allow the viewing of the construction, components and showing repairs. Nice to see the "Feind hört mit" sign in place still. Nicely constructed antenna that performed well and made contacts. Thank you Maryanne for the high quality filming with a nice glimpse of the lovely Norwegian country. Best Wishes.
Looking at the WW2 German radios I am always wondering that the Warsaw Pact's radios from the '60s are obviously designed (copied...) on base of these radios. Thanks Helge, DX 73 de HA0NBZ.
Yes, that's right. Many of the engineers who designed radios during the war continued to do so in East Germany for the Soviets. Many engineers were also moved to the Soviet Union after the war.
Thanks Helge! Really interesting video and a very nicely designed radio. I really enjoy watching you bringing back old radio's into service and appreciate the time and effort you put into making the video's - especially for creating the English commentary - it works incredibly well! 73 de M0SNR
