I think Keith Jarret is best in this. There is so much freedom and improvisational feel to his playing and the tone is beautiful. Then Ashkenazy, Levit and the grand old lady and then Melnikov.
Enesco is one of these composers who, at the beginning of XX th century, decided to use the traditional melodies and musical language of their country to renew tiheir musical writing. Although his language is less advanced, Enesco can be considered as a Romanian Bartok? In this quartet, we can hear the permanence of a rather traditional tonality and the influence of Beethoven, , Brahms and Dvorak. Thank you for having posted this beautiful work,
Do you play it? Can you play the semiquavers in octaves faster? Shostakovich made this piece for her, so she has the right to play it however she wants, and gives a great interpretation by the way.
That isnt argument and I thing I can play it I play this peace in past. But I fully respect her interpretaicion and found it also beautiful I would just personali play it diferent. Chill bro
In the very first prelude it seems that Tatiana has a different version of the score... Because of the odd rythm (sometimes I believe she does "something" with the dotted crotches...). What do you think?
I like this set much more than the Hindemith one, Ludus Tonalis is full of parallel fifths (they are still great pieces btw). there is no right and wrong in music, but I think avoiding parallel perfect consonants can make a fugue much better in terms of the voices' individuality.
This is terrific stuff--a real classic piano concerto from the late 19th century. All it lacks is a great melody to carry it to the hall of fame. Lyapunov was a very talented fellow but has lurked in the shadows for more than a century. Boy, this classical music business is a tough arena.
of course, a metal player couldn't handle this on guitar. Shredding isn't really playing well, it's just the illusion that it's fast on very simple patterns.
