I'm Driver Matty and I'm a taxi driver / Uber driver that also does airport transfers in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK. I also do a bit of Amazon flex and other gig type work. I also share what it's like owning and driving a Tesla Model S full electric taxi car. Generally I chat bubbles about my life haha enjoy and please subscribe to the channel 😁👍
The government won’t go with that. The congestion charge is us paying for the “clean air revolution”. Andy Burnhams proposal means that without public charges, they will fund it. It’s all part of the pay-per-mile con they’re currently trying to bring in. I can’t imagine taxi drivers will be happy with a minimal funding grant for an EV, when it’s gonna cost them up to 60% more for a qualifying vehicle. Loads of work to be done to make this viable tbh
Big scam this air pollution nonsense what they are doing by mine is changing traffic lights sequences that worked well for years and creating traffic jams whilst putting devices to measure the air which is bad because they've got cars idling
Hi mate. I've answered my own question about insurance cover below, after chatting to Acorn commercial insurance But I've got another couple of questions. They will cover the car for doing that courier work, but won't insure the parcels. Did you get separate cover for that elsewhere, or through Amazon themselves? Also about Amazon Fresh and the other deliveries they pay for. What happens if you deliver stuff late, as you were in a rush to clear the last drop?
Cheers for the vid mate. As soon as I buy my replacement taxi I'll be signing up to Flex as well I'm shopping around for the cheapest taxi insurance, as the one I've been using for 11 years (Freeway) are a bit pricey this time You mentioned in an earlier video that the courier insurance was covered already with the company you use. Which insurance company are you with as I might use them?
Im with acorn because no one will insure my tesla but ive found zego to be the cheapest in the past heres a link: Get £50 gift card by signing up for Zego Car Insurance: refer.zego.com/LKcLSM
You need to watch the documentary on here about how uber offers different drivers different rates for the same job. It's all a scam. You'd be better off putting any money you make into your own business and bringing drivers on side for yourself.
@driver-matty I went over to the dark side last week and started with Uber for the week, but keeping my school run. I must say, I done OK mate 👍 however, this morning when I logged on, waited 40 mins no job offers and my local firm was bouncing .... strange
I’ve had the Deluxe version in Thailand for five years, where it’s called the H1. Cruise Control, electric side doors and tailgate, armrests, leather upholstery, reversing camera/sensors/touchscreen with satnav all standard. Can seat up to 12, I’ve taken 3 out for luggage space. Very nippy and easy to drive, we love it for family use, good road presence. Amazing value for money as it’s no import duty being classed as a bus. No hint of trouble.
I thought I'd try Evri delivery the other day. Set off from mine at 09.30 as I had training at 10 am. Did an hour training. Then they said can you do some delivery today. Took me an hour to scan and sort all parcels and to load my car.. Then from 12 til 4.30 delivering 60 parcels in the rain in Lancaster city.... Nightmare. No where to park busy traffic. No one home.. For soaked. Got home at 5 pm. So was out from 09.30 til 5. Got £36 Minus £10 fuel And £3 insurance. Made £23. 😮
Alright mate do you know how long uber block your account for they blocked mine on Friday, I've rang them about 4 times all there saying is can't speak about it, I done one job on Friday so I know who complained coz I wouldn't let her drink wine in the car she said she would have my job and she wasn't messing I've lost the hole weekend for a £4.23 job
@@davidcarr4212 i feel your pain ....I had a scum uber customer who reported me for all sorts took me 3 weeks to sort it all out with character refrences too and it was an extreme headache luckily I had ola and bolt to fall back on....do not expect them to rush it they do not care but keep hassling them. Also if you have and uber eats account they block that too!
Matty mate, tou need to use a calculator 😅 ypu say tou did £12.50 an hour, for 3 hours, adds up ro £37.50, you did £28 quid mate, the fella in Tesco beats ye hourly hands down mate. Av a good rest of weekend
even if your phone is attached to cartel or in your hand the NEW AI cameras can catch you in a second so be careful what you do with your phone when you are driving
@@driver-matty it's like that on Uber eats ALL THE TIME. Pound a mile, sometimes less. Lucky if you get over pound a mile. You only need to ask an eats driver what's happening to them to know what they're going to do to the taxis next. I stopped driving taxis for Uber years ago...got a regular job but came back on to do eats as still had account and still missed the taxis...haven't been on eats a lot in the last year as it's really hard to make your money back, you're basically just carting peoples stuff round for free.
I started ‘ working from home ‘ about 6 months ago , ie , not leaving on a morning until a job pops up , one usually leads to another . Sometimes I can get back and repeat 3 or 4 times , others I’m not back till 6pm ! …my takings are the same as before ..
@@bowjana8128 I work from home and do self employed Uber and just eat. It’s banging. Don’t spend a penny doing nothing and make all the money. I pay £250 to live with family a month and it’s all money from there. What a small minded comment
But you took the job anyway? So why complain it's under £1/mile. Who cares it's an EV, you've shot yourself so low there and allowed Uber to continue on offering low rates to everybody else 😂 I love ya Matty, honestly, but that's a bit bad lol.
@@driver-matty I get it pal, but sometimes is it really worth your time and effort when you could've risked waiting for something better? The rates are poor in the Midlands, but a £4 job doing 1 mile is better than £10 doing 9 miles?
Hi Matty Just a quick question. I'm a taxi driver over there in Wigan from you. What's the script with insurance to do Amazon stuff? Is it part of hire and reward or do you have to get an addon insurance/separate insurance??
The course is ok just sit and listen they do ask questions and you write a few answers on paper.in this day and age yo must stick to speed limit or under I know some drivers try and make you go faster but just let them pass.there license they will eventually get caught.
