I had a customer yesterday going on about why she gets different out of town licenced vehicles she said she just cancels the job until she gets a local vehicle pity more don’t start doing that.

That would be a laugh in Wolverhampton Council or Knowsley council. They would need a translater. And what about the uber drivers who let other family members drive their cars illegally

Totally agree and the licence should be on display for the passenger to view so that if a family member of the driver is using the licence it would be obvious. All uber drivers in London should also have to pass the black cab knowledge. Driver caught using the phone whilst driving instant loss of licence

Personally im embarrassed by some of the stories customer's tell me about how unprofessional some drivers are. 21 years in the job and always prided myself on being professional, polite, clean vehicle, clean me etc. Cross border hire has been a disaster imho as local licensing have no authority over most PHV operating in their area. Stricter the better imo. Uber rating 5* at the moment and never dropped below 4.97. Im sick of the dick heads in the job tbf

Not just the test Matt it should be everything , test , signage, car testing, prices etc etc. How difficult is it to get a nationwide set of rules and regulations. Pure madness ,it’s like the Wild West out there. 🤬

We’ve add 2 tests a year in salford for many years now really strict at Salford council doesn’t matter even if you’ve got a brand new car still 2 tests a year

Bi annual test after 8 years jammy bastards.. In Newcastle if the vehicle is 3 years or older we have to do 2 tests a year all through council. But they have started taking the mickey plating ford fiestas and hyundai I10's and such shite.. Makes me sick how low the barrier to entry is now

100,000 % and it should be strict, totally strict like Liverpool. We deliver a service, we are responsible for people's lives. It SHOULD be stringent testing as well as knowledge tests EVERYWHERE.... ITS A DISGRACE that it's NOT already implemented

I’m just doing my licence with Solihull council. I did have a wolvo badge but decided to go with Solihull council I’m on day 19 awaiting my suitability assessment results wolvo council there is no real test just half a day course

A disability awareness. Safeguarding which is 2 separate courses. I wanted to go with Solihull cos I can work with more than 1 company. But I hear they have changed the amount of companies you can work for with wolvo

Rather than all councils have the same test , it should be a national PHV licence and conditions and the vehicle should be plated where the owner of the car is

Why should it be plated where the owner is? Because you want the owner to only work where he lives? Ok, so let’s tell all tradesman they can only do jobs in their own town. Doctors and nurses the same, everyone can only work where they live. It’s outdated none sense. People need to put their pitchforks away and realise times move forward. Every industry changes in time. Either adapt or find something else to do. Sink or swim.

My car is done by fylde council and it can't be more than 12 years old. I've seen cars now witch are 20 years old.

@@driver-matty yes it mad but the way things are going know one will earn any money because there will be to many taxi on the road. The only earners will be the big corporations and drivers will be shit on just like what has been going on in America and other countries.
