It's interesting that she said he mastered 20 instruments by the time he was 12, which isn't true. But he doesn't bother to correct her. He let people believe whatever they wanted to about him. He did play all 27 instruments on his first album, and played multiple instruments on other albums, but at 12 he didn't have that knowledge and didn't even have access to some of the instruments until he got into a studio for the first time. It's not like he had the Oberheim drum machine or Moog synthesizer in his basement. Letting the myths about him just build over time only added to his mystique. He said in an interview once that there was no point in correcting the impressions people had of him. He just let it go, and his reputation grew because of it.
Certainly not the Pat Robinson/700 Club type or follower, BUT sometimes all it takes is that initial interest in seeking. So happy for Dez, and others that discover the true Power and Light. You can still be a 'fly' musician but know Christ. Bless him.
And the best choreographer and the dancer that had the best chemistry on stage with Prince. She really understood what Prince wanted for the SOTT and Lovesexy tours
Amazing interview: very honest / frank. I saw them perfom at Wembley 88: My first P concert and it changed my life. They were an incredibly talented band. Cat was incredible, i think she was Prince's best dancer: individually unique. R.i.P Cat - We Wish U Heaven 💜
I went to grade and high school with her. She was a popular and talented dancer even back then. She used to win talent shows all the time. She was really cool and easy to get along with as a child and teen. RIP 🙏
