ABC TV Special December 19th 1992 The Ryde Dyvine Everybody Get On Up Get Satisfied My Tender Heart You Will be Moved Sexy MF Love 2 the 9's Damn U I Wanna Melt With U The Sacrifice Of Victor
Only Prince could have the breath control to dance his ass off then go straight into a perfect delivery of one of my favourite slow jazzy multi octave songs of his " Damn U". I also notice this video was directed by a guy called Declan Lowney who must be the same talented director that used to work for RTE and directed the 3 in a row hostings of the huge annual Eurovision Song Contest from RTEs base in Dublin Ireland. Prince knew how to pick talent in front of and behind the camera. Genius. He even designed the dress worn by the presenter! Thank you for this upload.
The end of the song "I Wanna melt with U" in this video is really the end of the song "3 chain's o'gold". He is and will always be a genius of the art of music.
Man Come on Now This ABC in Concert this Performance was Off The Chain both Nights were Dope AF and as far as The Record Company and the Industry was concerned FUCK EM THE ALBUM AND CONCEPT WAS TOO MUCH FUN THANKS FOR POSTING
I was also there amongst many other events, rehearsals, dance parties, impromptu performances, taking the crowd to the movies, Prince DJing and full blown dress rehearsals throughout the years and never a dull moment.
I'd remember this Prince special on tv it came on late at night and I had a blank vice tape on standby, cause these were going to be rare performances.
I remember when this first aired. It was so tight and the choice of artists was mostly on point. Mavis and Pops, Clinton and Rosie, no doubt. Wasn't there an In concert on ABC that was called 'Act 1?" The intro showed Prince as a dj and wearing a black face covering. "Levi, Michael B and me we getting funky." Then Prince like a baseball threw the symbol at the camera and knocked it away. Does anyone remember this and if so not just that intro but the special, are they posted anywhere on RU-vid?
What a great memory, I remember watching this the night it aired on KVIA channel 7 in El Paso, Texas. God, the memories of this INCREDIBLE man. I will ALWAYS treasure Prince in my heart, RIP in Prince. I will never get over his death, gone WAY too soon....
21:00: The magnificent Mavis Staples! I would know that wondrous voice anywhere. Thank you for posting all of this great Prince stuff. Makes me feel old. :-)
This performance was much much more louder then this on RU-vid!!... Some stupid hateful person turn the sound level down!? Now with a loudspeaker, I get a small sound not worth anything... stupid people.
I have her cd that has that song on it, and she sounds just as amazing live as well as in the studio. Just a timeless, incomparable, transcendent voice. Mavis is truly a blessing to us all! 😎💜💯
