Thank you for this! My husband and I went to Flying Fish the first week it reopened after being closed during the pandemic. We both thought it was incredible! We went back in May of this year and I was a tad disappointed. The service seemed a little rushed, food didn't seem as good. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I wouldn't rush back. Appreciate your honesty & love your channel!
Every time I'm watching your videos I suddenly realize I have a huge smile on my face. You're all so personable your emotions and enthusiasm are very genuine. Keep up the great work! 💕
100% agree Topolinos is the best steak on property!!! Flying Fish is on my list, we just never get to time to go to Boardwalk! We love staying at Caribbean Beach so Topolinos is an easy sky liner ride!! Thanks for the video! Hope you all are having a great summer!!! 😊
Were you talking about the filet at topolinos when you said they have the best steak on property? Trying to decide where to treat myself next week when I'm down there 😂
Love the FF review …haven’t been since pre-covid. Need to go back!! I also have those glasses and love them! We love Abracadabar and I make the Peppers Ghost in my glasses - delish!! 🤩
We have dined there many times over the years. My hubby never met a scallop he didnt like so his go to meal was always scallops. I was more adventurous and had fish and meat. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful filet cooked perfectly. Is the r e a reason you don't send food back if your food is not cooked to your taste? Glad to see that the flying fish is still going strong. BTW, those martinis and pork belly and bread looked delicious.
I've always been reticent to send food back. It's totally one of my silly things, but I just don't very often. If it's completely off I will ask the server.
Guys, if the restaurant has the sides and sauces on order, you can request a different sauce or side (if it comes with it). In looking at the menu (which I am always so grateful to pause the video and look it over) I would have ordered the scallops, with the risotto side and the Ras el Hangout Brown Butter sauce, with the grilled asparagus tarragon side. Just because the chef has a different vision, doesn't mean it's the perfect vision. Peppadew emulsion on something like scallops makes no culinary sense, just being "southern style" for the sake of. Chef would've done better using chicken or andouille sausage, or both, for that preparation. Mike! You know what you like, ask them to put it together for you. This isn't a cruise, the food is prepared to order. Love you and so impressed with Caleb for trying the shrimp, and trying again. You both are doing parenting right!
Flying Fish is a must do for us, we love the potato wrapped snapper. Like you, we prefer Topolino’s for steak. Caleb was hilarious, love his personality. He is really growing up! And he is so sophisticated for a boy his age.
So happy it redeemed itself! If you're there on a grown-ups trip, the bar is definitely a fun place to sit. The bartenders are incredible. Totally agree with you, Mike, on the hand-wash-only glasses ... Disney has so many of them and it's really annoying.
you found Dizzy Izzy! so yearsss ago pre storybook dining at Artist pt he was our waiter and brought us samples of the great mushroom soup (which is still there) then I heard years later he was at Contemporary. 3 times at Flying Fish, 1st time good, potato wrapped snapper and it was good. other trip eh. last trip got the pork belly and seared steak. so good
LOL, I know right? I was initially going to edit it down to cut the long gap, but decided to keep it from a parent-perspective so I could remember it. He felt bad for having to give a thumbs down lol.
time flies I remember seeing the little clothes you used to get for Caleb now seeing the bigger shirt we can tell he is growing way to fast, another great video, thanks for sharing your disney adventures I love them. Thanks for the good vibes
You have such a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your adventures. I look forward them. Caleb having to go to the bathroom just after you came back and got settled, now you know the struggle of teaching. When students ask to go to the bathroom as soon as we walk in the door from recess or lunch. 😂
Let me word this gently so I'm not attacked for the question or you for the answer. Would you guys get the dog again knowing how much you travel? I'm positive she's well taken care of while you are away, I'm just curious if it's been a challenge to your lifestyle. Friends and family are great dog sitters.
Absolutely!! Skylar is our little sweetheart. And yes, we have a close family member who is our go-to person for dog sitting her while we're away so we know she's in great hands.
Hi Mike, Steve and Caleb! You made my day, dropping a video this afternoon! Would you believe that it was 42 degrees yesterday morning, here in northern Michigan? Hey, my very first job was in a movie theater too, when I was 15! I really enjoyed this video! Seeing you two playing with Caleb, making memories, warms my heart! Thank you for bringing us along! 💜
