I have like 5 mora 511's. I do use one in a camp kitchen. That's all it's used for. As for the spine, I've never seen a 511 that came out of the box with a 90⁰ spine. Throw it on a belt sander for a few seconds and it will fix that.
i will day the same thing as i did on james' video, this box feels like barrel & blade is just clearing out some old stock. the items in the box are not bad, it just doesnt seem like the same kind of fell from any other b&b box. the hydration bladder to me it the BIGGEST let down, there are so many options on the market today for pack with a built in hydration bladder that would be SOOOOOO MUCH better than that "pack/hydration bladder". at least you got the mora though, james got a pack of wipes 😆
@@christopherpfleegor4447 but for real, you guys would have loved if I got the wipes. I would have spent 10 minutes ranting and cursing about wipes and baby's asses.
A ranger band thru that belt loop then around the knife handle would take care of it, it won't come out unless you want it to and its easy to use that way.
8:45 a trick with that power pint is if you partially open another tool on the same side the lock is disengaged so you don't actually HAVE to open it all the way up to unlock them 👍
@@billfreiberg6395 when I got an AGR slot in a reserve unit as section chief in charge of all the medics, all the line Docs were weekend warriors. We were Combat support MP Battalion. So these guys regularly practiced room clearing, urban raids, as well as route recce & security, as well as fixed site defense and repelling assaults. Most of these 91Bs/91Ws (that date stamps when we are talking about) had completely unrelated jobs out in the world. So they practiced care and documentation about as often as each much. I got myself some blank NY State Ambulance Care Reports, added in the body pictures from the DD 1380 and had them printed onto 8.5 x 11 Write in the Rain paper. We had documentation class out in the field every drill no matter where we were and and I had them use them real world if anyone actually. Needed care because these guys were definitely at the "write every damn thing because you don't know the difference between routine and pertinent findings yet" phase. They needed as much room as possible. *most* of thr time if it something that needed to be elevated to the MTF level they accepted the paperwork because it was easier to stick in a chart. If not I just helped them fill out an actual field casualty card. If drill was held off of a post or one of those little Camps without its own hospital and we had to call a civie ambulance they wanted a NYS form anyway. So it was worthwhile. Only. Problem was I had to make a copy of the actual piece of paper to keep a record because there was no carbon copy.
$120 on blade HQ. 189 on bear and son website. American made. I've ONLY ever seen the cheap ones. But I'm sure they can make nicer ones. Im not a fan of Damascus because you don't know what steel they're using usually. But it's nice. For the price I'd get a lucha from kershaw
@@greggvarnadore6012 it's a carbon tool steel. And I have a video where I've tested it again... Wait for it... 1095. Now with a 12% chromium content D2 is considered a high Chromium steel, but that doesn't erase the fact that a carbon content of 1.5% places it square in the high carbon category. "semi-stainless" is not a metallurgy description or category of steel. It's a term made up and used by people who don't fully understand what "High Carbon High Chromium Steel" really means. D2 was developed following a line of steels to replace tungsten, as people were looking for something that could withstand heat and had a similar hardness, but would be more economical in tool and die settings. The combination of thr Carbon & Chromium content makes it exceptional as a high speed tool steel. But Yes, due to the a carbon content as high as 1.5% Leave it out and wet, and it rusts. It's been proven. Lol.
I have the 3.0 from last drop with the carbon nebula inlay in magnacut, and just ordered a purple cru wear clip point on Friday! I have OTF’s from all the big makers and I will confidently say axial and guardian tactical lead the market in otf’s that’s a fact. Never tried a hawk deadlock, so I can’t speak on them (becasue there supposed to be the Michael Jordan of otf’s) but in the mid grade to high end range axial and guardian tactical are far out in front. And just to note if you’re a knife guy we all know microtechs are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to otf’s…
Hey Doc love your videos definitely got a sub from me! Had to come back to this video and check out the comments again🤣 I was wondering about seeing you review some of the new Swiss Tech knives that Walmart has. I feel like they are a great budget option for someone first getting into knives and it would be something to try and stir people away from this company and their horribly made products.
@@OrangeManGood2024 it's a shame you can't recognize sarcasm. But sarcasm is a form of humor that requires a certain level of intelligence to understand. Based on your unhinged comment, I'm not surprised a little bit of sarcasm went right over your head. Because you lack any identifiable sence of intelligence laet me try to help you out. There's a pretty famous James Bond movie titled "The Spy Who Loved Me". The begining of this video's title is a play on that, "The Knife That Cut Me". My regular viewers - who all possess measurable IQs - known that I frequently reference movies and TV shows throughout my videos, and that I often speak in sarcasm and humor. Most who are new to the channel. Are actually smart enough to figure that out, instead of having to rely on a direct litteral read of what clearly is a sarcastic statement. Especially since in the video I clearly say that the cut was due to my unfimiliarity with the mechanism. Deal with what issues you have, and I welcome you to come back in a better headspace and have some fun with us like a normal person.
@moxxi3338 actually. You're wrong. You need to learn more about automatic knife laws. There are very few states where owning an automatic knife is flat out illegal. There are legal differences between owning, carrying, and carrying with a concealed weapons license. It all depends on specific state statutes. In many states it is in fact perfectly legal to own and carry an automatic knife. In many states you can Carry it if you have a concealed carry permit. In some states it is not legal to carry, but it is legal. To own as part of collection undur curio laws. So before you make uniformed blanket statements like "illegal in most states" you should really do you research and have a better idea of what you are talking about. Ultimately though what's your point? If you don't like it, just don't buy it? Why can't you just let people who do enjoy these things enjoy them?
Sounds like you need to leave that state then. New Hampshire knife laws are some of the loosest in the country. Very little is illegal here whe. It comes to knives.
Absolutely stole the design from Benjamin Wallace's "Duck and Cover" series. I hope he sues the maker and marketer of this crap. Ridiculously overpriced for a cheap Chinese OTF.
Nah, this isn't my art. It's more like the traditional tiger teeth. Mine is smiling with a goofy grin. But thanks for looking out for me. Also, now I want this for my workshop.
@@BenjaminWallace hey, I'd love to know. More about your work! I feel like I should already know it. Can you shoot me an email (in the vid description) and let me know where I can check it out or put in a link?
