Jeez, dawg, get yer gob out of me face! Keep some distance, also virtually! If you do that in real life, you'll end up with a firm headbutt in that mug of yours. Do you want people to see what you had for lunch or do you want a kiss or what? 🤦🏼♂ 🤜🏼🤕
Hey Allen, I sincerely hope that all your loved ones in Western N.C. are safe and haven't been too severely impacted by the horrific storm that went through there last week. What a blow to that area, but I'm confident that they will bounce back from it and be even stronger in the long run.
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf Are they in the Hendo area? The downtown webcam there came online yesterday afternoon, and it looks like the main area was spared any flooding, which was centered just south of there where all the grocery stores are.
@robertfudge985 yeah they're like right between Brevard and Henson on a bit of a ridge so there was concern on the water rushing through them but no significant damages to their place. Just without power until possibly Friday
I've had a run-in with a ranger or two myself :) Having said that, i'm glad that there are rangers on the course to speed folks up. But they have to use common sense. If you're not holding anyone up, as you say, then there's no need to talk to you no matter your pace. Regardless, 4 hours 15 minutes for that length of golf course, with a foursome, is good time. You won't get around a full-length golf course in 3.5 hours like a lot of guys want unless you're playing speed golf which is ridiculous. Good vid!
Cheers my man! Yeah it was definitely a situation that I've never experienced before and that coupled with the reviews I saw on Google was worth mentioning.
Love the content. Come out to Players Ridge in Bethlehem NC. I work there. Would love to get you out and show the course off through your channel. Keep it up👍🤘🏼
Course had just opened a week before we playred it, so there was a lot of naturaly grass as part of the greens and fairways since it hadn't been punched of seeded yet but they rolled perfectly fine
PW from 150, but hybrid from 220? I'm really wondering what each club in your bag goes, distance wise. Because if your wedge is 150 you should only need 6 or 7 iron from 220.
I have about a 10 yard gap in between my clubs which is definitely not low handicap standard (theyre usually like a 15 yard gap) but I like the way my bag plays (now, not in this video)
Hole 13. You had a 157 yards to an uphill green and you hit 9 iron? Dude, that's a 165 yard shot with the slope up and that's a 7 iron for us mere 4 handicap mortals on this side of the golf universe.
idk what the wind was doing but that may have had something to do with it. TBF 9 iron for me NOW is about a 155 number so maybe that was pretty accurate?
Black Mountain. Destroying golfers confidence, one quirky hole, and 100 goofy lies at a time. Ball above your feet in thick grass in the fairway. Ball below your feet, right next to a tree. Where's the fairway? IDK, they didn't cut it this month. I think I hit the fairway? Wait, is my ball embedded in a pile of mud? I thought I was in the fairway. Not to mention you need a hard hat to play it, with holes paralleling each other throughout the 18, and 25+ handicaps everywhere you look. It's just dumb to rip a perfect drive 260 and be 20 yards short of the green, and see your ball buried in thick rough, with a lob wedge in your hand, having no idea how this will release from the lie or from the club. I played it two weeks ago for the 100th time, and I think that'll be my last trip there. It's just never in even fair shape off of the greens to take it seriously. Not a single hole I would consider fair either. Nothing like having the road cut across the 18th hole right where you should be able to hit a drive. But it's cheap, so it attracts hundreds of golfers from miles around.
Yeah I mean I think for the cost it's a pretty solid option if you're looking to get out there and get a round in but it's DEFINITELY not a couse I rate super high at all. I enjoy it, it's pretty, it's a good long iron course to play but other than that I'm not expecting it to blow me away ever
It's really nice to see the great golf courses here in NC. Maybe you should move up to the next tee box for more enjoyable golf. Driver off the 3rd tee was a not needed, 3 wood is a better choice. Negative comments are killing your game...
Just found the channel and this video! That’s basically my home course here in Greensboro, you can’t beat the value and condition of both Bryan Park courses. And Players is just perfect from a difficulty standpoint. Great vid!
AHH I just met a guy at the course today who's also from that area too. I'm definitely going to try to start getting up that way to play more courses, so many good ones!
Average golfer - I want to get together and play a round with you .. Caledonia Golf and Fish Club ? True Blue ? Tot Hill ? Clearly wanting to hit up a Strantz design with you .. any interest in playing ? my current index is under 3 .. and I present well on camera lol
Lovin' the content. Can't wait for you to do another video at Champion Hills! You need to pull some strings to get into a member/guest scramble or something.
I played this course many years ago with my brother. Just a great golf course, but I could play it again and still have no clue about any hole, as I don't remember a bit of it. You played fantastic though. 100% of putts left short of the hole never go in.
I played here Sunday, for like the 20th time (my sister used to live right off the 8th hole of the Apple Valley course), and the one thing that stuck out to me after watching high handicap golfer after high handicap golfer play this course, is that they should warn high handicap golfers that they will need about 2 dozen golf balls on this course, as you will lose a ton of balls if you aren't straight. I mean, on hole 15, you really cannot hit driver off the tee, because you can't miss left or right and keep a ball in play. I played here a year or so ago with three guys who were on a once a year golf trip, which was the only time they played each year, and one of the guys lost 18 balls by hole 13. I mean, every tee shot went straight right into the trees never to be found again. I don't know if you'll read this or not, but I am in Asheville, staying with my parents for awhile, and am always looking to get out and play golf on the weekends. I'm about a 4 handicap, fwiw (shot 74 the first time I played Bald Mountain fwiw) I've played just about every course in the area, so let me know if you'd like to pair up and play somewhere.
lol I can definitely see losing tons of balls out there, ESPECIALLY on that back 9. I read every comment BUT I live in Charlotte now so I'm not super local to Asheville based golf anymore.
I'm just curious how open it is to the public. I checked their website and I didn't see anywhere there that I could book a tee time. I guess you have to call them and ask for permission to play, since it's private?
Love the videos. Just found the channel and you do an awesome job. Definitely should give Mooresville Golf Club a try. Great course, and always in great shape. Red Bridge is another good one to try in Locust, NC.
Welcome to the channel! I actually have videos on both of those courses! Another one from Red Bridge is coming soon (Break 80 series) so keep an eye out for that!
Glad you got to play the Dunes! By far my most favorite course that I've played. Always a challenge, always in great condition and the staff doesn't get any friendlier.
Legitimately it was a breathtaking course. Can't wait to go get out and play Caledonia and True Blue; some of the final remaining courses on my Myrtle list!
Edgewater may not be the Country Club but it's the club in the country! Some days that putter just doesn't listen and those weird wiggles get you the first time out, keep swinging!
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf let me rephrase, I live in WNC and played Sequoyah many times and the conditions were always not good. To put as the best in WNC is not accurate. Our problem is we don’t have many good public courses at all in WNC. Black Mountain and Etowah Valley are a couple you left off that are decent tracks.
@MDD1966 I've played Sequoyah 5-6 times now at different points in the year and it's always been perfect. Etowah is a mud hole that overcharges and Black Mountain is a rinkydink good ole boys club. Sounds like you just enjoy playing cheap courses which is fine
74/150 is a hard course. Had the greens been in better shape I think you would have scored much better, those bumps were taking the ball offline a lot.
