I’m from Northern Ireland and I was over with friends in NC and we played here first. Absolutely lovely track, will definitely play it again when I’m back over
Sapona is a nice course, they are doing a lot of work out there. I've played most of the public courses between Greensboro and Charlotte and Sapona is a great bargain.
I play this course a lot and that is a good course. Right now it is getting more play than normal due to the fact Lexington Golf club is closed right now.
Hey Alan, I've been watching your channel for a while but finally had to comment. I grew up in the Winston-Salem/Triad area but moved to the upstate SC a few years ago when I discovered your channel looking for all of the courses to play there. Sapona is an incredibly fun layout and used to be private and owned by Richard Childress up until a few years ago. I've played virtually all of these Triad/Charlotte/Western NC courses, and your channel really brings me back. Some more great golf on the Greensboro/High Point side (Grandover, Holly Ridge, etc.) and the Clemmons side if you can make it there (Salem Glen, Oak Valley, Tanglewood), and of course Pinehurst (and Tobacco Road, Tot Hill Farm, etc.). I've since moved again, and if your ever in the Charleston/Kiawah area would love to play. (PS, I went back to watch some of your very first videos, and what happened to the shot of the day nominees? Those were fun!) Really enjoy watching your channel!
Hey dude! Much love the continued support, love to see ya in the comments. I definitely want to hit more courses up near Greensboro, it's really not a bad drrive for me and the prices are SO MUCH BETTER than Charlotte. Pinehurst area needs to start to get tackled this year. I'd like to play #1 and a few of the Southern/Mid Pines courses as well. I usually look to take a trip in the fall, may need to add Charleston to the list and join ya!
I agree with the Clemmons area (Salem Glen and Oak Valley for sure). Tanglewood is also good but stick to the Champions course and not the Reynolds. We played Sapona last summer and it was in great shape Hope to get back there again. If you want a fun course, play Pudding Ridge up in Mocksville area. Not a tough course but requires some accurate shots. They have that new weather resistant Bent Grass and the greens are fantastic.
Hey man I really like your videos great personality and real perspective of an average golfer. You should go play my home course Winding Creek in Thomasville nc
$30 on Friday after 2pm, but $64 on Sat, great course, rough can be thick at times, you are striping most of your tee shots, but approach shots are inconsistent
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf Not when you've been paying $40 for years, courses we used to play on weekends for 35-40 are now 65-90, too high for us hourly blue-collar workers
Played Red Bridge once before, but it had been punched, definitely need to revisit it. River Oaks is a new name I haven't seen suggested before though!
