The soul leaving In Flames is exactly what happened. Even the new album, which is pretty good, doesn’t have a lot of soul and because of that it lost a lot of its staying power.

Saw them last year in Europe, normally i prefer faster music but I enjoyed the concert, the whole time Mike looked as if he's going to collapse at any moment :)
Bro....that movie was fucking stupid! Horrible movie. Do not know wtf you are on homeboy! Good interview though. The LOC movie was so Hollywood of course and was depicting the black metal scene inaccurately. How you can say you enjoyed it....that's beyond me. Ask in an interview if you get inclined to do so, how Destroyer 666 or Gospel of the Horns thinks about it.
Love the remark near the beginning about how Australians speak closer to the Queen's English than Americans. We haven't spoken the Queen's English since our ancestors came over here in the 1600s, lol. If he heard my southern accent (I sound pretty country), he'd probably chuckle and know he's dead right. I'd love to get Andy for an hour and ask him questions about the Sweet. He'd get mad at me after 10 minutes because all my questions would be about Mick.😅 The Sweet will always be in my heart. RIP Mick, Brian, and Steve. Never forgotten! 💞💘
Hey Andrew. Thanks for doing all these cradle interviews. It's been a massive nostalgia trip hearing about this band again after not having listened to them for almost 20 years and learning some of the stories behind the band from the members and people surrounding them. I never expected when I came across the first episode that I listened to that a fellow Gold Coast/Brisbaneite would be conducting all the interviews. Good stuff! Revisiting the band now (I originally started with midian in the early 2000's) I do prefer the older stuff up to around 2000. However I checked out their 3 most recent albums and I liked what they were doing despite it being a bit different from the older stuff and the bands being a completely different beast to what it was in the 90s. it also seemed to have a good core of members that had stuck together for a decent amount of time minus the departure of lindsay and the addition of annebel . Sadly that wasn't to last with her and richards departure. Its funny that cradle playing via auto play after another album i'd been listening to had finished and me sort of going 'damn this stuff really was good i should listen to this again' and then me finding these videos has really gotten me immersed in the early albums again. And, I think I appreciate them even more now than I did back then. I'm even going to see Dani and co in september. Hopefully its a good night out :) Sorry for the long message. This was just a really good journey that all came to my attention by chance recently and I enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks again Andrew!
@@ScarsandGuitarspodcast Mike Exeter was spot on that music has the ability to transport people to a time and place of when you first heard a song or album and what life was like surrounding all that. That's definitely been my experience going through all these interviews and listening to cradle again. Thanks again for helping facilitate this journey. It's been an awesome ride. Keep doing what you are doing with all the interviews its great stuff :)
@@NOopulence Les is the final piece of the puzzle and apart from that if it ends there then I’ll be satisfied, but I really hope others such as Adrian finally appear on the show
@@ScarsandGuitarspodcast Would be cool for Les and Adrian Erlandson to make an appearance on the interview series, but if not you've done well for yourself mate. I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say that what you've gotten together already has been an outstanding treat for old fans :)
Listening from Alberta Canada. Wish I was across the pond just so I could give Andy a hug and say thanks so much for inspiring me in music as a kid. Never found fame, but that's doesn't matter now. I still play bass, thanks, Steve. Andy, my mom loved you. She's gone now. Great memories. I'm glad you're healthy as can be. Love you tube for letting me see you ❤🎉.
Very interesting interview, like always with Andy. He always appears very humble, down to earth and bright. First time I saw him live with The Sweet was In Gothenburg April 1975. And it was nice to have a selfie taken with him here in Gävle, Sweden in about 2005.🎸🎤😊
I wonder if Steve Albini's death might create some skepticism for SVT concerning experimental jabs. I heard him gladly mention how he had gotten it on another podcast, yet he wouldnt answer your question about ayahuasca. Maybe he's just a good politician, but u doubt Idaho had mandates
Oh please! Having lived through the entire Glam Rock era in England I can tell you that if it hadn’t been for Marc Bolan very few of these bands would’ve existed. It’s nice that Andy is still playing, I just get the feeling that a lot of stories maybe a little blown out of proportion. Still, good luck to him.
@@khamen723 ah I see. You did excellent work together. Respectfully, at the time of publication his Remembrance Day is June 6. That’s from multiple sources.
well i've got to say i have to agree i got hospitalised straight to icu and ended up getting my left lung burst but ive never had a jab and never will have great interview
Man Chris is one of my favorites and for sure one of the best!! I saw him with Act Of Defiance and we all went out to dinner before the show. He and their vocalist invited me onstage that night to perform I’m Broken as a tribute to Dime. Getting to pay homage to one of your guitar heroes with another one of your guitar heroes is a surreal experience. You rule Chris!!!
I can confidently say this was one of the best interviews I've heard w Kat (Jonas). Delving into things not mentioned in the several dozens I've heard w Kat. I'm around both their ages yet I didn't really get into metal until my 30s. So I find it quite intersting hearing about the 90s scene.
Joe Haley and Wes Hauch have the chops, style, and tone that leave me in awe more than any other guitarists. Can never decide who is my favorite between the two and I'm glad I don't have to.
MY FABOURITE BAND L7 SINCE 1987 YESTERDAY THEY CAME TO BARCELONA AND SAW THEM IT WAS REALLY GREAT WHEN THEY WERE LEAVING I WAS SCREEMING TO THEM I LOVE YOUU DONNITA,JENIFER , IM SORRY GIRLS I WAS SOO EXICTED I DID NOT MEAN TO SCARE YOU SORRYYYYYY😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I LOVE this guy. I was at a show in 2023 when he played in Salt Lake City and got to act like an air guitar idiot right in front of him. What a legend! His foot was right up on the edge of the stage and I was right up against the bar. I'll never forget the brief eye contact we made, he gave me this look like "quit acting like an idiot" haha he stared/glared at me for a moment I'll just say his signature was etched by lasers into the inside of my cranium that night at that moment haha I love the way he plays, it was awesome to see him in action up close with my tongue hanging out
In New Orleans, Kyle has an amazing Dio and Judas Priest Tribute band. I saw both shows and I can tell you that Kyle is an amazing vocalist and showman
May I ask you a question? Who made your channel banner? It's really cool! It looks like inspired by Hieronymus Bosch. P.S. I've just subscribed to the channel.
