I am just a guy who loves riding bikes and sharing my passion of motorcycles and cars. I review vehicles and their accessories. I ride along the east coast of Australia sharing the many fantastic roads that we have here in Australia.

That is pretty wild - I wouldn't have expected someone to go to that much trouble for a scam, impressively evil. Glad you got it sorted and paid attention to your instincts.
A very aggressive look. I wonder why there are not so many available to buy them 2nd hand. :) I think that here in Europe it is out of production for some years already. Great video Matt. I enjoyed.
In most cases the jumping out of gear is caused by the dogs being worn due to flat changing (kind of what a quick shifter does). When I was 18 a bike like this which looks like a Transformer (the toy/cartoon) would have tickled my pickle. These days my tastes have subdued.
Hello Mate, Thanks for the very informative video and tips I have a 2002 Troy Corser Rep with 18K miles. I'm just wondering why did you not mention the 2002 Troy Corser Replica in yellow? She's a great looking bike this bike seems to have been forgotten. Did you not get this version in Australia? Cheers Romano Palm Beach Florida originally from UK.
great honest review i have a 2020 v85tt travel and your review is spot on i notice at 80 feels like she wants to give more but held back. still have stock eghuast
Gday Mat, unfortunately it’s a skill we all require nowadays when looking at buying things. I’ve lost $100 so far in my life and it was a lesson learned quickly to be more vigilant
I have done that with other scams, but they were when I was at work. I messed with a scammer for about 6 hours. It was a bit of fun for me. I figured the more time they wasted trying to scam me, was time they were not scamming others.
It is very sad really. I have sold my last 5 bikes over the internet (buyer had to trust my description). Because of scams like what was on the video, it only makes it harder for honest people trying to sell bikes.
Hey Matt, almost “got got” myself about 3 months ago, similar circumstance but a ride on John Deere mower. Seller had to move house in next 3 days, there were other people coming and just needed a $500 dollar deposit to hold it till they got home that afternoon before I could look at it. Story fell apart when they clearly didn’t have enough local geographic knowledge. Two days later Facebook blew up with 4 or 5 local people all saying they got scammed. Thanks for raising this so we all think twice and trust our gut feeling a little more.
Always go with your gut. Alot of scammers stories fall apart when you do not go to their "script". Things like questioning the area they are from (weather or local known landmarks) or press them on the vehicle they are trying to sell (items specific to model they are selling). Well done on not getting caught out.
I have had some success buying and selling items on Facebook. Just a bit of due diligence can go a long way. There are some good bargains to be had. Just be vigilant.
I've run into this many times. The way I vet it out is that you can use Google to reverse and look up the photos being used in the ad. Usually, there will he several ads using the same photos. Great job sniffing out the scammer.
So many scammers steal other's info ... Then they come up with all these stories about why they need a deposit... Yes, incorrect English big red flag. I hope you reported this to FB. Thanks for sharing!
Just picked up a 2011 Hilux 2.7L Petrol today. Just turned 105,000km and drives well. It's a manual and not too sure how much life the clutch as left on it, doesn't have a tachometer so hard to judge the revs. Hope you are still enjoying yours.
Yep. I was close to leaving a deposit when I saw the licence. But something did not feel right. Especially when I offered to pay the asking price and pick it up and they still wanted a deposit.
That’s interesting. Makes me wonder if buying a bike interstate from a private seller would be a bad idea. I was looking at a bike in QLD and had done the deal with the owner, organised a company to transfer it to Sydney when the seller got a better offer and cut me out. But if he hadn’t, I was prepared to transfer the money straight to his account. That could have been a costly mistake by me.
@@jeffarnie if you have been in direct contact with the seller. The risk is greatly reduced. I have sold a few bikes to interstate buyers. A bit of due diligence goes a long way. Like I said in the video, if there is an element of urgency to get a deposit from you. You may want to consider it a potential scam.
Great vid mate. It's been a long while since my first visit back in the 80's I think it was. I need to go back and have another look. I was hoping to see a suzuki 550K triple in your vid. I bought it new back in 1973. Great memories of fangin' that thing, riding it on the edge. Those were the days.
Definitely worth a return trip, Here is a vid of a GT550 getting returned to the road. Hope you enjoy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y55HIx4nolU.html
@@RoadsOfOzit’s never easy. Nothing is easy. Bolt holes NEVER line up. That’s why I took up watchmaking. Everything lines up perfectly to the 1000th of a millimetre.
@@alvaromateosfernandez-maqu5772 Thank you for your quick response, now i have Michelin Road 5, which are quite good, but also quite expensive. So i thought probably i try another tire.
Hahaha that laugh at the start :D Every bloody "simple" job ever. Looked more involved than I would have thought tbh! Still didn't look terrible thankfully, mad you have to replace so many bits. That a really good price tho!! They also look bloody great! I love being able to fit my helmet in the boxes.
The price is what got me. At first I thought it was a scam, but it just turned out I was very lucky. Not so much when the brackets cost more than the paniers. But I still come out of it cheaply.
Would not be much of a video if it all was too easy. I wish it was though. I was meant to fit these before the trip to Tassie. But the first bolt was an issue. So I put it off until now.
Yeah. It is an amazing bike. Was very back and forth putting it up for sale. But the new owner would be riding more than me. The whole Guzzi experience is awesome. From start to the end of the ride, you just smile.
