Yea, those tabs work great. On my newly build house the contractor put the screws to hold the grll register in place in the tab area. Because of that the tabs can't be used. Why do contractors do stuff like that.
Am I correct in my research that I will have to install a whole new HVAC system in order to replace this with a smart thermostat? Everything I am finding on air handlers that use KSACN* is telling me I am screwed for smart thermostats.
Pretty much. I had this t-stat, and installed the 24v module on the fan coil to accept an Ecobee. The problem with that is that you lose the benefit of the system: Variable compressor ability. Ecobee is mostly an on/off controller and still doesn't "communicate" with these systems to maximize efficiency. Pretty ridiculous.
@@drewalexander3814 Efficiency is worthless if you forget to turn the thermostat up to 76 and it's going to be 100 degrees all day while you're at work. That's my main problem.
My husband cheated on me with a man we are getting divorce its so hot im on menopause its so frustrating my husband is leaving me for a man he is moving to freaking San Francisco oh my god
my ac kept going back to the scheduled times when i tried to keep it on permanent hold. house was constantly at 82 degrees and its 98 outside. absolutely miserable, hopefully this tutorial helps
I was excited when I bought my new home that just had a new AC installed just to learn this is a proprietary thermostat and you'll have to install a REAL HVAC system if you want a smart thermostat. Cheap ass Chinese MIDEA garbage.
I'm a senior. Totally d not understand this unit even with you good instructions. Calling the HVAC company tomorrow to see if there is a simple thermostat. This is crazy!
How can the fan be turned “OFF”? When heat/cool is OFF and the fan is on AUTO, it still turns on from time to time. I want the system off completely, how can I set this?
