Going to Jacksonville Sharks games are fun. They are the local arena football team. They play during the summer, but since they play in the arena, you don't have to worry about sweating the entire game. I agree, St. Augustine is always a fun day trip. As someone that relied on public transportation going to and from a couple of the FSCJ campuses here in town, I agree that the public transportation needs a lot of work.

Well done video - made me subscribe. I'm down in Miami. I have a brother who recently moved to Middleburg and I have a sister in Gainesville. I feel like we live so far away. My daughter is in Orlando and even that is a hike. Hoping in several years to retire in north Florida and Jax is on the list.
You dont know bad traffic if you think Jacksonville has traffic, it doesnt. Try living up the Northeast area where you can wait up to two hours in traffic without moving an inch. Jacksonville is a vacation.
I love hot weather. I hate cold. Im allergic to central air conditioning. I love Florida. I think Jacksonville is good because of the constant sea breeze. Other parts of Florida are alot worse, Orlando is burning hot. In reality Jacksonville is the best part of Florida concerning heat because you still have seasons and it gets cold. Jacksonville heat is nothing compared to Orlando, Tampa , Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.
Hey! They've been developing it up quite a bit that way! Quick & easy drive to the airport, zoo, Flamingo Lake & River City Marketplace. If you're sensitive to train sounds that's something to consider. My friend isn't far from the tracks over there and it can get loud at times, but overall her and her children are very happy with where they are. 🙂
I loved Jacksonville. My wife worked for independent life for over 20 years. It was a great place to live. And it is hot. And the pollen is bad. Worth it, though. 👋👋👋👋👋🌊

Are any of those areas flood-prone would be my concern. I heard San Marco can be, it might be an acceptable risk for the area, but that would mean additional flood insurance.

Yes, but in the Summer you probably would want to be in Michigan, and you won't get the Fall you get in the North, but there are a few deciduous trees that will give that to you later in the season. It can get cool in the Winter but sunny. Different vibe there too. More Southern, more of a permanent population, more green than South Florida ( less concrete condo towers everywhere with a few palms in front) . I enjoy visiting.
