If they remove the ability to cancel his clone, it would force him to actually be smart with it. This or maybe nerf baybladed start up by 1 or 2. If they did one or the other. hed still be amazing. But more fun to play against.
And that's hella fair! I'd say I'm kind of neutral on it personally? I don't really mind much since I'm currently on my octonary character arc. (bedman) Regardless of how frustrating a matchup is, learning it for the first time will always be interesting!

I personally feel like Nago has a pretty unique downside which also works in his favor, For example A.B.A has a rough early game until she can build enough meter to then go into her wincon, and some characters wincon is getting your opponent in corner for strikethrow etc, where Nago wants you in the corner but due to his specials being so strong often a lot of the time lead him into pushing you into corner and starting the chip hell anyway, even before the BS high low and strikethrow, so a lot of the time it fees like the game starts in the corner where nago has the advantage to begin with IMO (great video btw v funny editing xD)
Thank you! Yeah his corner carry even on block is nutty, I remember when roundstart was unwinnable for Goldlewis in Season 2. That MU essentially started in the corner.
Soooooo… on a toooootally unrelated note I’m relatively new to guilty gear like 18 hours new, decided on a friends joking advice to do the arcade mode, sure it’ll be relatively easy AI typically aren’t nearly as good as actual players and I can do DECENTLY against him, not great but I can do pretty decent when he’s not on his main… Arcade goes mostly as expected, again on friends joking suggestion went for the “”secret boss”” so win everything without losing a round, not the easiest thing had to rematch a few fights… get to fight 8 nagoriyuku… BUFFED nagoriyuki… who can spam out specials even in blood rage… takes no passive damage from it… I get curb stomped… “okay just need to keep at it” 30 minutes pass no progress… finally take a stock without horribly dying, immediately get curb stomped again. Feel like I’m fighting for my life. Another 30 minutes pass I have gotten to the point where I have become so annoyed I start playing worse, then better, then looped to worse again…. I have a newfound hatred of nagoriyuki. And will one day get my salty run back.
Nago main here who still loves the character but thinks season 3 has been awful for him. nago's options are pretty scary but aren't without counter play. the thing is a lot of his pressure is way faker than people notice. most of his cancel opportunities into throw fall apart to FD and since the cost to stay in is so high, it leads to a pretty limiting game plan. this forces him to rely on wake ups, walk ups, or fukyo to get a throw, all save for wake ups are VERY reactable. with the season 3 nerfs to 6H, combo damage is overall lower and blood management is a lot worse, so at the moment the only thing in his kit thats scary on block is the BS high/low which we can all agree should not exist. for most of season 3 hes been functional because he could just force a unfuzzyable bloodless strike/throw 50/50 to get all of his blood back with WWA, but now that its no longer usable in pressure his options are severely limited for regaining blood. while i agree that his neutral is phenomenal, when it comes to offense, he's struggling. it sucks that he needs the high/low at the moment because it's awful but without it he'd just be a slow as balls zoner.
thank you for showing solidarity with us z a t o players. it makes me feel heard and happy I'm really excited for the season 4 proper to start where he will get another round of misguided and ultimately very inconsequential buffs
It's kind of both? I try to sprinkle some general info here and there to help newer people with understanding some core issues the characters have. They're also meant to add a little nuance into the discussion around characters, there's a lot of people that hate a character but can't quite put their finger on why.
@@GGSTFraudGameplay there are things that I felt gave off the wrong idea and might lead others into thinking some options are just unbeatable Although the video is about why people hate the character and not a review So maybe I'm the one getting the wrong idea
@@thatguyfrommetalgear I might have overexaggerated a bit on the strengths of clone and beyblade but it's more about driving home the fact that these options are incredibly tedious and hard to work around. Your concern is valid tho, thank you for the comment!
@@GGSTFraudGameplay I'm just glad I can talk about the game respectfully Last thing I'll say is that it's not my channel But personally I think the Slayer video was better at being informative while also talking about why the character is annoying, and if I'd like to see future videos in this series be more like that Despite all that I like the editing and I think the video is pretty funny
well, playing against Nago feels like no interaction. He has strong netural skip and strong RPS pressure and defence breaker. The only thing I could do is wait and Guessing. His problem is blood rage, but thats his resource manangement, but I can't interact with it. All I can do is pray for this Nago player sucks at blood management or lost his mind in blood control, and try to defend some RPS to make me survive longer.
As a Slayer main, absolutely true video through and through I love this character, but I'd love him even more if I didn't feel like I cheated a win due to one interaction followed by a random super.
As someone who’s learning testament wow this is really neat and would certainly help me to ingrain into my mind…. Unfortunately the project moon series has rotted my brain to the point I cannot even read anymore.
Shit like this is why I can't play this game. But like, is there even such a thing as a fighting game where all characters can be balanced fairly? Seems like an oxymoron.
It's definitely possible, but whats not possible is a fighting game where no characters are hated. Hating chars that are not your mains has always been an FG staple for some reason, I could make a "Why everyone HATES" about every character! (and I probably will) At the end of the day it's important to remember that all of this character hate is very subjective and often kind of forced as well, don't let it drag you down. Your character is still a valid pick regardless of what people think.
At his point you gotta do this for every character or I'll just assume you targetted two of my mains for no reasons. A wild guess is the next one is prolly gonna be Ram.
Playing against slayer is a great indicator of how well you can play defense and how well you know your character's moveset in order to punish properly
I agree with the fact that the most cáncer of the nago is the fucking 50/50 double swing in to beyblade, is annoying and ir you are not prepared he can bite you and have less rage... At least with axl i can zoone him from one corner and if he use the clone grab and repeat
Nago main here. I don’t play as much Nago anymore because the character just feels like I’m cheating. I started playing other characters and I often times find myself saying. “If I played nago I’d win here.” Nago just has so many neutral skips that it’s crazy. Don’t forget to mention white wild assault being able to armor through projectiles and lead into good corner carry.
3:31 they do, they unironically do. a huge chunk, dare I say more than half of the game's arcade routes are directly about him. the game hyped him up in the story and trailers despite him not doing much aside from being the catalyst for HC's come back. they rarely actually nerf him, they make up for his nerfs or outright give him buffs (can't convince me that giving H/L to make up for a 6H nerf is fair or just an "oopsie," ArcSys knew what they were doing.) he's featured a lot for a newcomer, even more than say Gio or Goldlewis, and he doesn't have a niche audience that eats him up like Bridget's does or major relevance like Asuka. they had him be the guy Elphelt swoons over in Strive, which is usually normal but considering the above and El's immense popularity... it genuinely feels like Daisuke and the team like the guy a lot, maybe too much. And when you reconsider that Nago's design and idea is actually older than Strive, being intended for (I THINK) BlazBlue, yeah it feels like someone likes him too much, and Nago's basically their OC.
I got into nago by a very funny situation. My cousin got me the game but told me that I should look at the characters to see which one I would theoretically like to play. I looked at nago's character and saw the words "One shot" which sounded really cool given nago was the only one with that description. And well, now I'm here, playing nago.

As a certified nago HATER, what I'm getting here is "Nago is not OP, just polarizing, here's the reasons why" -He can skip neutral -OP character's buttons -Top tier pressure -Top tier setup -Top tier mix (New)-Easy as hell spam loop win maneuver "But he's not broken though, just misunderstood" I'm sorry, but I don't buy it
Nago players getting 70% at minimum, a wallbreak, and positive bonus off of a roundstart hit and potentially not go into bloodrage and believe they are not privileged assholes is crazy to me I play fucking faust, where's my crazy shit
Listen you pick faust you know what you sign up for and your game plan, hit those 2Ds charged thrust and spam those items, it's your game plan for not having any plus moves
