Hi Eddy, your videos are great. Is there a way for me to contact you? I am working on a documentary project. It would be great to chat with you if possible. All the best,Sorcha.
Now we have native Irish people sleeping rough on the streets while foreign nationals are put up in hotels at the expense of the taxpayer. Not only that but they're actively working to make it illegal for you to complain about what's happening. Wake up people
Left my car in there; to get a rattle checked out; went back next day, nothing done, told me it was just that it was an old car. charged me 40 euro after telling me they did nothing; like they were laughing at me; they need to be SHUT DOWN
My son was born in 1985 and lived with his mother's family on Casement Road, which I don't think is there on the video, but close enough. Fairly sure that green area on it's east side was bigger and the bypass wasn't there then; so they must have cut a swathe through it. We were at his Christening I think in that modern church you passed, or very nearby. I was a Corkonian but lived in Terenure and Ranelagh for 10 years until 1987 and been in London since. Before then, between 82 - '85, I took buses passed there on maybe North Road and then walked or hitch - hiked to take 5 flying lessons total on the then rural West side of the Airport to what was Iona Airways where I think the Tower is now. Sorry for the soppy story. Memories, huh. Thanks for the video. Looks about right, though I rarely went west of Casement Road.🙃
That’s the Finglas that I knew and loved, born there in 1969 and spent the best years of my life there too, some of the finest people I ever knew came from there, good friends and good neighbours,I miss it as it was then,as I’m mid 50’s now I yearn back for those happier carefree times,we had very little but we had family.
sorry I skipped your house Sean But parts of the original video had to be edited out because of the bumping up and down in the car, better cameras these days,
No heating, no electricity, cooking food on the fire and the man says: "I have every comfort you could need." A lesson to the self-entitled of these times, if they were capable of learning it.
The smell of coal fires , your dad coming home from work with his wages on a Friday night .a warm family home in finglas . Now there's an afghan killing chickens next door for dinner praying over them , our local shop is some cousin of Leo varadker, our takeaway is run by Osama bin ladans double, our pub is polish staff everywhere, since when did the irish become unemployable. Answer ask ffg scum.
Irlanda siempre me pareció un lugar distinto, su pueblo es aún hoy distinto, no se olviden que hay irlandeses por todo el planeta, y que rory gallagher fue el mejor.
The weirdest thing about this video is that the colours are really good cos it's sunny, so the whole thing looks almost recent. And all the houses are the same. But the busses, shops and horses are all gone. And there's less grot nowadays
