Hi everyone, I often struggle to follow video patterns as I'm working through it so I've made written INDI DIY's pattern. Apologies for any mistakes or inconsistencies. I use 'colour' because I'm from UK. Crochet Flower Granny Square Bandana: 4mm Crochet Hook ch - chain st(s) - stitch(es) sl st - slip stitch sc - single crochet dc - double crochet hdc - half double crochet yo - yarn over Colours Colour 1, Centre colour Colour 2, Petal Colour Colour 3, main square colour Flower Granny Square - Make 10 Round 1: Work Colour 1 Magic Ring (mr), chain 1. Into the mr work in 8 sc, pull yarn and close mr Round 2: Insert hook into first sc and sl st with colour 2, cut yarn and pull. Slipknot and pull through 1st sc of colour 1, Ch 3. Repeat 6 times (yo, insert hook into same st, yo and pull through, 3 loops on hook pull through 2 loops, yo, insert hook into same st, yo and pull through 4 loops on hook pull through 2 loops, yo, insert hook into same st, yo and pull through 2 loops, with 5 loops on hook pull through 2, At this point you should have 4 loops on your hook, YO and pull through all 4 loops and ch 3, work 1 dc into next st). After completing 7th petal, repeat previous step once but after pulling through all 4 loops, ch 1 and sl st into top of first petal, ch 1 and cut yarn. Round 3: Slipknot colour 3 into a space between petals. Ch 5 and 2 dc into same st. Repeat until spaces are filled (3 hdc into next st, For corners, work 3 dc into the next st, ch 3, 3 dc into same stitch). Sl st into top loop of the first corner, ch 1 and cut yarn. Half Flower Granny Square (Granny Triangle) - Make 5 Round 1: Work Colour 1 Magic Ring (mr), chain 1. Into the mr work in 4 sc, pull yarn and close mr Round 2: Insert hook into first sc and sl st with colour 2, cut yarn and pull. After completing 3rd petal, repeat the previous step once but after pulling through all 4 loops, ch 1 and sl st into top of first petal, ch 1 and cut yarn. Round 3: Slipknot colour 3 into a space between petals. Ch 5 and 2 dc into same st. Repeat once (3 hdc into next st, For corners, work 3 dc into the next st, ch 3, 3 dc into same stitch). Ch 2 and cut yarn. Joining: Arrange 3 granny squares in a V formation as described in video, 1 square at the bottom with 2 squares at the top on either side of the bottom square, edges touching. To join start on the left hand side with colour 3 and only sew through back loops of all sts of square edges with a needle. At left hand corner tie a knot and continue to sew together through until the end of one edge and continue work through the edge onto the right hand side. Repeat with 3 squares on the top, similar to previous until reached the right hand side. Repeat with the remaining 4 squares on top. Place the 5 half granny squares on top identical to the square placements. Border: When finished joining, make a slipknot and insert hook into left corner of half granny, ch 1, work 1 sc in all sts of bandana. Slipknot again, ch1, work 1sc into same st. Working only on the side edges of the Granny Squares, skip 1 st and work 5 dc into the next st, repeat until the opposite corner. Slipknot and ch 50, work 1 sc into the chain and through the half granny square edges of the bandana up until the opposite half granny square corner, slipknot and ch 50, work 1 sc into the chain, slipknot and cut yarn to finish.

@katielyb
@katielyb 4 месяца назад
It depends on your hooks and how tight your stitches end up. Some people crochet more loosely and others more tightly. If your on the loose stitch end, I would go down to a 5.5. If you crochet tight stitches then a 7 should work. 5.5 usually comes in a standard set though

Idk how yall are following. I can barely understand her. Make a sc and increase. What does that mean
@jamie-leemcfarlane9714
@jamie-leemcfarlane9714 7 месяцев назад
Single crochet into 1 stitch and then increase the next stitch. (Increase means two single crochet into 1; the same stitch)

This video doesn’t teach you how to crochet, you need to know the simple stitches before starting, she is just showing the pattern.

I know people already answered, but "increase" simply means to put two of whichever stitch you're doing into the same spot! Best of luck! :)

Your Video is quite alright to follow and not too long. It's a nice Pattern for beginners, I love it. But how do I make my brim less wavy? Your hat is perfectly waved (and so cute!) but my wave looks very extreme. I added one row while increasing to make it wider. Hat fits but i really dislike my wavy brim
@SarahStitchh
@SarahStitchh 6 месяцев назад
If you want a completing flat brim, dont do increase stitches. If you want it less wavy but not completely flat, use less increase stitches. Hope this helped!

The tip of my hat is pointed. Even if I loosen my tension. I change it back to 8sc as foundation. It flattened a little bit but the final output is bigger than I expected. 😅 I need to redo it again hahaha. Anyway great tutorial!
