Great to see another video, nice job! It's been 15 years since I first discovered you I think. I'm now part time flight instructing and been going on my own small plane flying adventures. Just passed about 1000 hours total time and am getting closer toward my ATP. Can't express how inspirational you've been. When people ask what got me into flying, airtimbuktu, RU-vid, and as close of an explanation as I can articulate of what is an airtimbuktu, is a part of my long-winded answer.

Hey, you. You're finally awake. Glad you've rediscovered the password to your RU-vid channel. To be frank, it was your videos which made me fall in love with aviation this bad. When i watched your XWB-Files like seven or so years ago i completely determined my entire life to aviation and getting myself flying. Back then i was a little kid in school, in search of a passion to strife for. Now i'm all into aviation, studying Aeronautical Engineering while just having completed my first ever solo in a tiny little C152. The journey to get where i'm standing now was incredibly tough at times. But whenever i stumbled across one of your beautiful videos every once in a while, i regained my motivation and passion to keep on. So... Thanks, i guess. I will keep your Videos in some very special part of my heart - forever. Your content shaped my life in a way you probably could never comprehend - in a very, very positive way.

Thank you for your extreme patience.😂😂 P/P/S : A young boy who used to be inspired by my videos is now a A380 FO with Emirates. Follow your passion!💪 Anything is possible!

Is this an Airbus?

Sir I have 2 questions: 1) in the beginning of the video on the Navigation Display, why is the green pointer flickering? 2) You did a last left turn at 2500 ft, so what is the lowest altitude during landing/approach at which an a320 can turn? I have seen few videos of landings at Calvi airport of 320s Great approach and i had to rewind 2 times to find the main gear touching. Ot was so smooth.
@airtimbuk2
@airtimbuk2 3 года назад
Hi, so sorry for the late reply. I hardly logon to YT these days. 1) If you are referring to the ADF pointer, it is flickering because the signal is not very stable, which is usually the case for ADFs. 2) It really depends on what type of approach you are conducting. But the general guideline is you want to be established on finals by 300ft if you are conducting a circling approach. Thanks for watching. Take care.
@sapanavarani9747
@sapanavarani9747 3 года назад
The height about ground level was quite fluctuating after it was descending below 500 ft in RA. Is it because of terrain or buildings on the approach path?
@airtimbuk2
@airtimbuk2 3 года назад
Yes, you are correct. Because of uneven terrain.

Does the horizon always rises at eye level?
@CristiNeagu
@CristiNeagu 3 года назад
No, because the Earth is not flat. The higher the altitude, the lower the horizon will be compared to the level reference line. You can see at 1:33 how there's a gap between the horizon and the horizontal reference line on the HUD. And that's at only 7500ft. But there is an interesting optical illusion you can see when you're high up above the sea. I experienced it in Tenerife, when i was at about 5000ft. Because the base of the island is at a relatively low angle below the horizon, and the horizon line does rise up almost to eye level, the sea looks like it's tilted up at an angle towards you, rather than being level.

@airtimbuk2

Yes, but it's better to let ATC know your intentions too because they need to maintain spacing between aircraft

@airtimbuk2

For non precision approach (such as RNAV), you will need to fly the final segment of the approach visually.
