Nice Landing... Atc always orders speed restriction 250,210,180,160 kts, It doesn't need to say.All pilots already know which distance,which speed should be required. ATC speaks "maintain 180kt until 7 dme"(another novice atc) its fast. it's right decision reducing 160kt until 5 dme.Captain, Well done !

Great landing! One ques thou, when cleared to 8'000 ft, V/S was used initially. Is it a preference? Possible to do it with OP DES as well?

Trey Wong Yes, it's a preference since they do encourage a continuous descent profile. You can use OP DES as well but you won't be able to control the continuous descent profile as well....

Hey Airtimbuktu, Speed 190, Flap 2 with Speedbrakes gives a good ROD to capture the G/S from above? I notice that it is THR DES instead of Speed or THR IDLE. I only know of Speed THR IDLE, never seen THR DES before

+Chan Mark Yes, that gives a good ROD to capture G/S from above. THR DES is annunciated when you are on profile.
