Thank you for your support and for taking the time to produce such a detailed video of our Koh Lanta sanctuary. This is wonderful and very kind of you. 🐘💚
One fascinating thing is that both 🦧 & ☀️ 🐻 make “nests” up in the trees out of branches & leaves, to sleep. Fun to see some of that behavior in your footage!
“Orangutan” or “orang” “utan” is completely from Bahasa language - meaning “orang” (person) and “utan” (forest), or “person of the forest”. Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesian are just different dialects of the same language. 🦧 And orangutan has the same name in both Malaysia & Indonesia :)
@@larastevens2256 no your all good you can buy your ticket at the ferry port or google ferry from Phuket to Koh lanta and find the best price on there :) Happy travels
Hi Adrian. We booked through a company called Andaman Islands Tour and Travel on Facebook and they were very good to deal with. The prices of the tours start at around 4000 baht per person. Hope you have a great trip 👍
If I dont take a 2 wheeler or dont want to book cab whole day, do we get grab/taxi/tricycle/tuk tuk while returning back from tourist locations during day time?
To be honest I would trust that a grab is going to come and get you from Emerald Pool or the hot springs They are a fair way out and I am sure if they take you there they would want to go back to the main areas where they could be making money Us personally I wouldn’t risk sitting there waiting for a grab to come and pick us up
We love Memories for an early dinner and having a cocktail or two while the sun sets. It is a trade-off in KL re best beaches and proximity to the main restaurant areas. We've stayed mainly in Nang Thong but have stayed at Chong Fah in Bang Niang which is lovely. There is a sea wall but we had a beachfront bungalow which looked out over the water and it was amazing.
Enjoyed this excellent video! What did you think of Nang Thong Beach? Which of the beaches you visited have places to stay on the beach? We're looking for a new beach destination in Khao Lak since it is on the mainland. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!
Nang Thong beach isn’t too bad especially with the easterly on shore winds that are around November to April There are some rocky parts but only bad on low tide Defiantly a beach worth visiting Glad you enjoyed the video :) Let us know what you thought of the beach after your visit :) Happy travels
@@robshaztravels How nice of you to reply! I forgot to mention that we are looking for very calm waters. That is why, although beautiful, the surf beach that you loved would not be for us. I assume the winds you mention make it cooler but we will still find calm waters? Thank you so much! Linda
Your very welcome 🙏 There is no surf down that end of town so the beaches there are perfect for calm But again it has to be between November and April while the winds are blowing from the east so the ocean is beautiful and flat When the winds blow onshore from the west the beach is choppy and sometimes unpleasant We find November to March the best time to go as it’s not too humid yet but we also found when we went last year there was still a bit of rain about in November but no one is the weather gods so we just don’t know what’s going to happen on any given day
@@robshaztravels We plan to go in January or February so that sounds just right! I should tell you the reason we are trying to find a new beach destination. We usually go to Koh Jum. We love it. But we are an older couple, age 82 and 76. We need to have easier access to health care if we need it. The islands are wonderful but we think we need to make a change. We were in Khao Lak about 8 years ago and liked it. But if you have any other locations on the mainland besides Khao Lak to suggest from your experience, that would be welcome. Calm waters and access to health care if we need it. Thank you so very much! Linda
@@620EDA so happy to hear you are still travelling that is wonderful for the soul. I hope I am still travelling in 25 years too x Khao Lak sounds perfect for January February and a lot of restaurants and shops around We haven’t been yet but I hear Hua Hin is nice but that is best on low season as the beach faces the other way so May to October but you would also be stuck inside if it’s raining too much We are planning some trips to Hua Hin and Jontiem in the coming months so don’t forget to subscribe and click the bell to get notified of your new videos :)
Brilliant I hope you have a fabulous trip - we might see you there, we’re planning on heading back and doing some of the stuff we didn’t do last time :)
We loved Similan islands and also memories beach and the tsunami memorial There was still stuff to do there that we next got to do so we are looking forward to go back We wouldn’t recommend what not to do because everyone is different and what I like or dislike may differ from you Didn’t get to do the bamboo rafting but I think that would be awesome Have a great trip
Hi, great video. We will be staying at the TUI blue in Khao lak around 3 miles from the turtle conservation place. Do you need to show a passport to get in as it’s at a naval base? Also can you get private transport to the place, I’m aware travel companies will overcharge you. Thanks in advance
Yes you do have to show passport but we just showed a copy of it on my phone :) You can ask a songthaew driver to take you there and maybe pay him to wait for you to take you back to your hotel /)
Great series of videos! I was wondering what your experience was with rain being in this area (Krabi, Koh Lanta - not the gulf side) during April and May? I see that there is predicted rain for many days of my upcoming trip in April and I'm hoping that's not really the case. Did you all experience many rainy days?
Thanks we are glad your enjoying the series April last year the weather was fabulous we didn’t really get much weather until we went to Phuket in May and the winds changed to onshore and we had a few rainy days But nothing to keep us inside for days on end :)
Hi Max and Jacqui. Thanks 🙏 for that we loved getting up and having the place to ourselves for a short minute. We have been keeping up with your South American tours looks amazing 🙌🙏
