Hi, my names Eleanor and I have always found great joy in exploring all the possibilities of wool and how it can be worked to produce different effects, materials and outcomes. My passion for experimenting, felt making and weaving eventually grew into The Woollen Cwtch Company. I make beautiful woven wool and felt coffins here in the UK. Join me for all sorts of adventures including insights into the realities of working within the wool and funeral industries, tutorials for those who like to give things a go themselves and my favourite part....the experiments where we will explore and have fun testing different techniques, ideas and theories. Its great to have you here - any questions or requests please do ask.
I am sure you can. You may need to adjust the temperature of your iron to account for the additional layers and work in short cycles of heat. The feather may stick to the fabric. I always think the best thing is to play and find what works for you :)
You did a fantastic job of teaching how to make a feather! I have Mareno wool so I’m glad you chose to use that type for this project! Thank you for sharing such wonderful creations with us ❤
Thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait to make some feathers and use them in the dream catchers that I make. They are going to be beautiful and special. Blessings
This is a very helpful video! Because I dont really have the bonding fabric or the wool, do you think if I used brushed yarn and hot glue it would have the same effect?
hot glue probably will be a bit messy so in my opinion a better option is to get a stiffening fabric or something that bonds whit the other material sorry if you didn't want some randoms persons opinion
Best felted feathers yet! Perfect timing for me to see this as I am making a very large Phoenix and this is brilliant, Thank You soooooo very much for sharing your talent with the rest of us! Can't wait to try it!!!
I be been considering making a griffin for my grandson, he said he dreams repeatedly of feeding a griffin. I just can't thank you enough for the ideas!
i need to make almost mini feathers. so do i cut the bonding material down lengthwise or what would you do? i am knitting the birds but would like to add realistic feathers. thank you.
Really good enthusiastic instructor...thoroughly enjoyed watching how simple you made it all appear!! I’m sure it’s as good as the person making it, so we will all have to take a leaf out of your book and be confident! Look forward to more demonstrations...well done Elle! And many thanks! 🙋😘👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Helen in Norfolk. 🙋
