Girl, you are braver than I 😂😂😂, I spent 11 Days solo with my young-ish dog in Sweden in September in a van and I was a little stressed out (from the responsibility of keeping him sorted and making sure he was having a good time too). I can‘t imagine a dog + two puppies, bad weather and a month long trip. crazy but awesome. Hats off to you and thanks for delivering all the dog/van/scotland content I could wish for!!!💕 I am a subscriber now, you‘ve earned it hahahah
Ha! Great to have you on the journey. It was.... Eventful for sure. When I originally planned it all out it was just me and Sadie, and would've been so less stressful. But we made it through AND I'm hoping to do a shorter 14 day Scottish island hop tour next. Though I might need a bigger van!
Oh awesome! I have decided that I need to install a diesel heater too. (German winters, grrrrrr) My partner is kind of intimidated but as per usual, I am hopelessly (and perhaps unjustifiably 😂 ) optimistic that we can do it. What do you reckon? Rocket Science or can we do it as semi-useless beginners? One quick thing: I recall hearing that carbon monoxide detectors should be mounted close to the ground because it sinks. So for Sadies and your sakes, consider looking into it an perhaps moving it a bit.
If I can do it, you can do it! This one did come with instructions of a sort and I watch some vids before I did it. Good shout on the co2 I'll look at getting that mounted lower down. Appreciate you looking out for me!
Hey, great idea to trace from the outside, which up to now haven‘t seen anybody else do (and I have watch A LOT of window cover how to‘s hahaha) Seems so much easier than from the inside. Can you tell me how they‘ve been holding up with the spay glued fabric to the reflectix up till now? Any bubbles or issues?
No issues at all and I've been using them a lot. Everything is still attached even though I chuck them on the floor when they aren't in use 🤣 you Def need a good layer of glue sprayed down and wait til it's tacky. My first try I was impatient and it separated after an hour!
Ha! Don't know what you're talking about that was the real Nessie! 🤣 It's very nice to have a respite from the rain and actually get out and explore a bit.
Thanks for another interesting and drama filled 😊 episode. So glad you got your keys back. Bet the number of steps were big that day. Think of it as a fitness benefit 🙂 I really do enjoy watching, so thank you Anjuli
I live in S.Wales but would love to explore Scotland one day, got a friend who lives outside of Glasgow, would be amazing to just show up on his door one day haha. Enjoying your vids!
Can i help... please change out your green fuel pipe for the white nylon one, the green goes brittle after a short time and may leak. Just trying to help you and save you from misshapps
Hey thanks for the advice. Have already done so after chatting with the person who helped with some welding I had done in the summer. Appreciate you looking out for me though! 😊
When your at troubles in scotland thete will always be someone along soon to help. Enjoy your journey with the puppies give the nature its time to heal and be present! Happy days ❤
This is so true! I needed help multiple times while away from misplacing my keys, to needing an extension for ehu. Every time someone came and helped me, without me having to ask. It was a refreshing attitude 🥰
Thank,s for some of your information I’ve just bought of Amazon the nc500 map # was hoping 2 get away… but. Your journey red Squirrel never heard of it ? # am up Glencoe At least twice a month…. As well as Aviemore … couple of hours from Glasgow love it…. Ps enjoyed your show 👍🏴
I highly recommend the Red Squirrel Campsite, was definitely one of my favourite paid places to stay the entire trip. Wish I could've spent a few more days there, will be going back for sure. You're very lucky to live so close, I'm hoping to move to Scotland in the next year. Not sure what area yet, have been looking in Nairn and Forres but being near Glencoe would also be lovely.
@@wegailygadabout yeah 👍 please remember living that so much up north the weather can shut driving down two stand down especially In November sometimes even until March # but good luck in your exploring you never know mite bump into you and dogs… explore our countryside
@@wegailygadabout is stunning through hope yeah enjoy Scotland Scenery when you’ve Moved up 👍 #. Am going up two Loch Lochy on Sunday till Tuesday bit of fishing @ Camping ? can’t wait till your next trip
This was the lowest point of this trip. I honestly thought it was the end and I would have to be towed all the way home to Nottinghamshire. I am so grateful to the wonderful humans who banded together to get me out of the ditch, calmed my nerves, and gave me coffee and a hug in the rain. One thing this trip definitely taught me was that human beings are heccin kind and will help you when needed.
Soooooo much rain. I don’t mind rain in honesty, but I did suffer with it because there was no space to dry anything out and after day 2 everything felt damp and smelled mouldy, the floors, my chair, and the bed. It was super depressing. Also, I packed for summer so didn’t have any of the correct clothing for that much rain! Rookie mistake I guess. Next time I will prepare for rain regardless of the season.
100% recommmend getting a permit and parking around Loch Lomond for £4/night if you can. It is so much nicer than a campsite (and cheaper) and you are right on the water. Even in the rain, the Lochs are beautiful and very atmospheric. Do you have a favourite Loch to stay at?
Everyone told me to prep for midges and honestly, I think I over-prepped! They weren’t as bad as I had expected for this time of year. Have you had a horrible midge experience? Share!
I loved meeting the Red Deer and was lucky to get there on a quiet day. This area is very beautiful and so easy to find somewhere to stay the night. Highly recommend you visit it on your next Scotland trip!
Thanks, everyone for coming along on my first big road trip! I hope you have enjoyed episode 1 and stay for the entire journey. Where’s your favourite place to visit in Scotland?
Whilst you've not had good weather (lets not mention the Brook-slide disaster) the same cannot be said of the views. Amazing views. Can't wait to see the bonus driving content (I might put that on loop as my "Mellow Monitor" from work!). Hope the 'van gets sorted with regard to your escaping electric! Tell Sadie to stop running the electric heater. 😉
Definitely! Even in wet weather Scotland is beautiful. This area specifically is just lovely. So many mountains and waterfalls 🥰 Bonus driving down Glen Etive episode is out on Thursday evening. 35mins, no taking, just driving along the road with a bit of music. Enjoy!
A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE That HELPED Our GIRL 🙏🍻……you had me worried there 😂 then you were smiling, so pleased it ended well. I loved that camp site and great price. I have a thing for batteries and thought when I go out in my van I’d take a battery charger so if I needed I could find a camp site with electric hookup and charge the battery. Looking forward to next instalment and as always thanks for sharing 👍😁🍻PS hope you had a good birthday 🎂
There were a few kind humans on this trip who helped me for various reasons. I was very lucky to meet them all. I'm so glad Jez wasn't damaged during this whole thing, though her battery is still playing up a bit.
Thanks again for letting us all join you on your travels. Sorry about the unscheduled off roading! But glad it was all sorted out. I look forward to your next installment 😉
It was actually a really nice park up. One thing I worked out on this trip is that Scotland is FULL of amazing places to stay the night and if one is full the next one is just around the corner. This one was lovely.
I don't think I've ever been to Glencoe and it be nice. I think the history of the place almost seems manifest there. Sorry that it was a bad bit of your trip, Scotland does have this knack of being miserable at the most inopportune moments, that or getting all four seasons in the same day.
I got used to it by the end of the trip but I was definitely unprepared for it in my packing and planning. I'll definitely be going back to try again though 😂
@@wegailygadabout ….no I like it to be real . I did assume you would be tucked up cosy with the dogs in the bad weather, but the damp and claustrophobia has been a struggle , but it’s amazing how quickly things change with a bit of sunshine ☀️😁🙏👍
I wish I could snuggle with them but my bed is quite high up (I have to use a stool to get up!) and they can't get up there without help and I would be worried the whole time one of them would fall off the side! When my bed was across the back the sides were encased so there was little chance. But now there are no sides to protect them. Sou they all snuggle on the bed in the floor and I'm alone 😭😂
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I'm glad you bounced back from feeling low. Just remember you have kindly taken me on your journey and I am enjoying it very much. The scenery is beautiful. Thank you Anjuli and keep your spirits up xx
When over the first bridge turn left not right like you did.so turn left and follow the path then at the top of the hill were logs cut turn right follow up all way to robins hood cave.thanx
Thanks! I'll be going back at some point in sure. I was following the OS Map route so strange it would take me the wrong way. I will visit it at some point! Gotta wait for my new puppies to get a bit bigger!!
You can buy the Thermawrap in a double width roll (I got mine in B&Q here in the UK), this may save you having to join pieces together. I'm making these for my large estate car, and even though the screen is quite wide it does fit across the width of the roll.
I came across your channel on RU-vid and seen it said loch Lomond. I was curious to where you would go and I couldn’t believe you started in balloch. That’s where I live! I hope you had a great time exploring balloch and going on the loch 😊
I did! It's lovely there, and I came across it completely by accident when flicking through one of my os guide books. In fact, it's one of the places I've been looking at houses as a possible place to move to!
@@wegailygadaboutoh that’s amazing, good luck house hunting when the time comes. It’s a great area and depending where you go the prices are very reasonable. I’m so glad you enjoyed this area, I like many others definitely don’t appreciate just how lucky we are to stay here ❤️
