Can tell an audi/bmw bum boy from miles off. Whares your class man, so generic.... Audi this BMW that, boring. You lack taste like your head lacks hair.
The weather computer at 5:00 did 50 million instructions per second. We don't measure in MIPs any more since computers are too fancy for that to make sense. Now it's operations. A GTX 4090 can do over 80 trillion operations per second.
But will computers be able to make the world look even more brown and beige? Not if Prestel has it's way. 7 colours! I actually went to the BBC centre in 1973 and saw the first Ceefax TV system with my friend and his dad who was a TV Producer. You selected the page numbers with thumbwheels on the TV. No remotes. Imagine.
9:46 when he said computers are quite stupid in many ways, I expected a Dalek to come rolling in exclaiming "HUMANS ARE INFERIOR! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!! 🤣
I remember watching this as a kid with my ZX81, SPectrum and C64. Sunday morning essential viewing. And here i am in 2024 with a mobile phone that has more storage and power than that Cray. PS, why did you change the music to this awful rendition?
That wood that you dont like the feel of... Its actual wood mate. Maybe a veneer, but its REAL WOOD!!! No two cars share the same grain pattern. Beautiful car. Have you thought about reviewing something more suited to you? A Skoda Superb perhaps, or maybe a Volvo?? 🤷🏼♂️
6:02 "it's got space for another ssd" so I investigated the topic. Turns out, that slot is not an ssd slot, but is populated in some configurations with wwan module. Which means, it can only support PCI-E interface and not SATA, only modules with M.2/B-M-Key will fit and not the usual M-Key drives and the max lenght of the module can be only 60mm. Taking all three constraints in the account, there is no mass produced ssd drive you can put in here and apparently the only option out there are used drives from old Lenovo laptops, which cost and arm and a leg and carry 120Gb at most. So, no, it is not a space for another ssd (unless they'll make a shorter version of Intel Optane).
@@tecteam ahh fair enough, but still. how has he managed to avoid pretty much every tech channel on youtube covering it?.. even linus tech tips covered it.. lolol.
I *love* the classicly British gag they put in at the start: _„No...We have no bananas.“_ 🍌🇬🇧🤣 The other thing was booking that flight over PRESTEL: Not only that he could book when he wanted then leave payment right up until arriving at the airport (Anyone with a credit card will know why that's a good thing!) but also the price of the flight - A quick look at the Bank of England inflation calculator shows that £64,- fare is about £212,- in March 2023 money. 💸 Compare that to the £699,- price for the computer seen in the window at the start (2023 equivalent: £2315,-) and that gives you an idea of just how much more extravagant a computer was in comparison to a typical family holiday! ✈🎈💻
