My name is James, and this channel is all about celebrating human craftsmanship. I have a passion for handmade goods, photography, and many other forms of artistic expression. I also enjoy finding my own unique solutions to some uncommon problems, which I share with you. No fancy gear, just a guy with a camera and one too many ideas.
Unfortunate that the side pocket only has one Zipper. If it had two, I would be able to easily zip tie them together or put a padlock on it to prevent unwanted opening from people
Are you willing to sell this? I need one for my trip but I am not a leather worker. Been looking at different designs and so far haven't found anything that appeals to me. Thank you!
i've been thinking of putting block printing back into the hobby rotation. this video is pushing me even closer. now i just need to find what i did with all my gear. great job, as always! btw i've seen some linocut artists that use slightly dampened paper to get a more uniform pull on their prints.
Awesome work my guy! I originally found your channel for the leather videos, but I as well appreciate a good whiskey. I love how you make awesome things with easy to use tools and don't have a huge workshop like some other youtubers I follow.
Thanks so much, glad you appreciate it! It hasn’t been easy adjusting to small condo living, but I do enjoy the added challenge of figuring out how to get things done!
good tutorial and nice holder! however, as a small critic, you should always show the end product at the beginning of the video so people know if it’s what they are looking for.
Nice introduction to this awesome new Luma 18L camera backpack! So, what camera body did you put inside, and does it fit through the side zipper opening? Also, just FYI, I believe that the foldout tripod pouch is for 1 tripod leg, and then the top tripod sections attach to the external carrying strap via a shock cord sold separately, or an accessory strap. That frees up the magnetic side pouch for a water bottle.
I knew as soon as you showed the keychain it wasn't a Hermes keychain but to someone who doesn't care I'm sure it's fine but then again those people aren't Hermes customers
Lol, I saw thumbnail but till the end had no idea what weird kitchen hanging decoration you're making... Awesome! And thumbs up for working in an small apartment, I'm getting too often into "so much mess I don't want to clean up in closed space"
nice lookin, hope the cross grain doesnt split on you. you went to the trouble of making it out of wood then put hardware shop plastic in... not sure thats how I would have gone. The hole idea is good, but if it were me, I would have crafted 3 wooden holders that are somewhat larger than the cigars, so they can easily be used to place on, rather than the plastic peices which are just barely large enough to hold them.
Oh definitely. I’m always super cognisant of making noise, especially now being in a high rise; you never know what your neighbours schedules are like or how it effects them. Still gotta get your work done, but in the most considerate way you can 👍
Hi I want to make something similar to this but with faux irridescent smooth leather it usually comes in a roll but it’s thin… any advice on how I can make it thicker?
I think this was such a cool design, but I would have liked to see the wallet a little bit more close-up. When you showed the second version. It was kind of blurry and far away. It’s also been like two years since this video came out so no one probably cares what I’m saying lol!
Isn't it around $400+ CAD including shipping and duty? That's a steep price for any kind of bag, especially for the size this offers. I totally love it though and think it could work for me as I just want a minimal bag for everyday and use it on different trips in future. This fits all the boxes but that price, ouch. How has the comfort been for you and if you did happen to use the straps with peak design capture clip, that would be appreciated!
That not a new idea, saying at least :) Same as curvimeter - calculating a distance based on radius and circumference. They made a good effort to choose the right market, as EDC community like flashy and overengineered fidgets. Personally, I also thought about something similar, as you've said any tape measure you have better than the one you don't. For now, I'm just carrying a coin with a 16mm diameter with gives me about 5cm circumference - works for rough estimated measurements :) Or you can get a 32mm ball bearing for about 10cm Video looks great :)
until you need to measure into a corner. lol The amount of friction you need to apply for it to roll consistently seems like it will leave marks on a lot of materials.
To measure into the corner you just have to bump the wheel up against the wall and add the radius of the instrument to the measurement reading. I agree, it will probably take a lot of force to overcome friction.
