DOES ANYONE HAVE A LINK TO FIND THE FIBERGLASS POLE? I cant find at a walmart store or on line anywhere. Im thinking they arent made anymore.. hope Im wrong
There's an old saying....Locks are made to keep "Honest" people out. Unfortunately, Cordless grinders are the Worst tool invented when it comes to Thieves! The weak link with your rod tubes are the "U" bolts. Cut those and worry about opening them later. Always park in a well lit areas, again unfortunately Thieves don't always work at night. My brother had his catalytic convertors in mid day at the boat ramp.
A trailer is made to move, park, a sit with valuables. In today's society you may cross paths with people who want and know how to get those items. This is a great deterrent video that covers every aspect of a sitting trailer without the owner being present. A boat launch, a gas station, a supermarket for supplies.... All potential problem areas when loaded. A necessary evil. Good job! 👏👏👏👏
Solid load-out. Everything you would need if you got separated from your boat is on you. And all of those things are backed up with a lanyard. My rule is: if it isn’t locked up in the boat or on a lanyard, you’re donating it to the sea. Hats and sunglasses included. Ask me how I know (over and over again), lol.
This is a great video. Did you have any trouble finding an SAE sidewall connector that would fit the Yak Power? Most of the ones on Amazon look to have a much more rounded head than the square Yak Power.
Hi. Just curious, to what max speed have you taken this trailer? Some "sellers" of this trailer state 45mph max but it seems many people are going beyond that with no issues. I want one, but not if it has any issues on the freeway, up to 65mph. Thanks
Scott, are you in the Nashville TN area?? I've been looking for the Miracle Gro stakes everywhere in Nashville and can't find them...Which walmart did you find them? Thanks for the video!!
I can't find them either, I can't even find them on the Miracle Gro website. They are either not being made anymore, or they are a casualty of covid and can't be made at the moment.
@jacobhyre7835 this has been a better option that I did on another kayak.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gicwsr0m5ok.htmlsi=BlcozpUzvLjCwiaZ
A little too much to carry on your PFD, a lot of the equipment you have on your vest can be left in your yak. IMHO. Get an extra PFD and harness a backpack on it. LOL
Very nice video, my older NRS Chinook is wearing out so was looking into the changes to the newer model. Do you ever carry a VHF radio clipped to the vest? Seems to be the biggest thing missing from my older model, a nice loop for the radio's pocket clip right in the middle of the vest.
I'm impressed. You thought about almost every which way a thief can steal your kayak, your box, your tires, and the hitch. Most Excellent Video!!! Thanks for sharing and most importantly, you gave me some great ideas. Thank you @Scott Miller.
Good video man. I'd recommend losing the super glue for wounds and getting a tourniquet and train on it. Super glue will NOT do anything for any major hemmoraghing. If it's anything less simple pressure will do. If in doubt tourniquet that.
But super glue is perfect for little cuts especially on finger tips which always split open. I always carry the small vials of medical super glue for that and they are one of the most frequently used items in my first aid kit.
I’m not sure what ratchet straps you are using, but there are some out there with Stainless Steel wire on the edges that can’t be cut with your average knife. Gene Jensen (Flukemaster) had these on one of his videos. I don’t believe it was a video on just the straps, but just something he mentioned in a video.
I'm doing something like this for my canoes but with the 4x8 harbor freight trailer. Did you have to replace the axle or was replacing the hubs enough?
