None of these manufacturers want to make a great-sounding, straightforward, song-mode friendly machine (with sample capability). They should hire guitar players to design them.
I guess in order to keep the free Roland stuff coming your way, you need to get on here and hype whatever junk they put out. Tacking on a bunch of afterthought features which should have been there initially is b.s.
They called it a drum, made it a groovebox, if you try to please everyone, you will please no one. This desperately needed to either be strictly analog drum, or sample with fully ui performer friendly controls and and finger drum pads… I think the Arturia drumbrute impact is better
most underappreciated underdiscussed module in the game. had eight of them w/wmd mscl next to each and one librae legio for bassdrum and my multitracking sound going in was so good. i hope to rebuild that case again when finances permit.
Yes, a review please! It is a great device with brilliantly easy on the fly performance and modulation capabilities. I love it. And I really look forward to what you get out of the Arp and which synths you will arpeggiate!
I bought both but I'm not ready to call it yet. I need to get more proficient but as far as the sound I don't think the West Pest sounds very good. That could change though.
Which of the two machines do you prefer? I am thinking about the SP or the new Digitakt. Price differences are apparent (and important), but my main point of focus is not step sequencing but all non-quantized stuff one can do (indeed, actually playing!) and available loop lengths (the longer the better).
West Pest. It opens the door to a range of synthesis that many don't think about. However, it screams "The first hit is free -after that, you gotta PAY!"
thank you very much but can we connect a speaker to the output of this box..? I see everyone putting on headphones but no one sending the sound on a speaker :(
I gotta be honest a lot of those examples sounded backwards. Like the sounds you said where inspired by west coast music sounded like East coast and vice versa. the last east coast example was like the only one that sounded East coast . As of now I would probably get the Eastcoast… but most likely would opt out to find a synth that can make all of these sounds.
Curtis Judd review said preamps are like zoom H8. I want to like this, the I/0 is perfect for my setup. Every candidate I’m looking at has features I don’t need . This one has the fewest but I’m leaning toward Teenage.
Couple questions- does it have nudge or offset on the sequencer? And does it have over bridge to send a master into the saturation? I know it doesn’t do samples, right? Thanks!
Was on the fence about it. I have the Tr-8S I mainly use. Would rather own the HD-01 Perkons, and Elektron Syntakt over this. Though, I do think the synth voicing is nice on this unit.
