I'd say west pest, since there are infinitely many substractive east coast synths even in the affordable range. West pest is only competing against, like, the 0 coast and the volca modular lol. Still, props to Cre8audio for being so affordable without being Behringer. The east beast is neutron-priced.

I have a west pest, it is very musical and can make a great baseline without even trying. You can also get incredibly weird almost bit crushed sounds to squeek out between the warm tones. It's great, I love it!

I think they're both great products, but my first choice is the West Pest. I really dig the punchy, plucky sounds. That filter on the East Beast sounds really special though, so it's something i'd definitely consider getting as well if i could afford both. Tremendous job Cre8tAudio and Pittsburg Modular, and thanks for all that you do Bo!

I gotta be honest a lot of those examples sounded backwards. Like the sounds you said where inspired by west coast music sounded like East coast and vice versa. the last east coast example was like the only one that sounded East coast . As of now I would probably get the Eastcoast… but most likely would opt out to find a synth that can make all of these sounds.

I think the more attractive feature is the pill 💊 form key bed; I have nothing against traditional key beds but there’s a certain lure produced by a button that makes a sound as opposed to a piano key!! ❤️❤️❤️💊💊💊💊

Both sound good, but leaning towards east beast, I feel like it would pair with my Typhon nicely or sonically. But who am I kidding probably get both.

West for me. I enjoyed a Korg Monologue and an Aurturia MicroBrute (OK, I'm cheap...) but sent both to Reverb heaven because ultimately I could get the same sounds out of Reason and lots of other software. Got a WestPest and really enjoying it - much fresher sounds to my tin ear anyway - ymmv...

West coast synthesis is sick but something that’s way over my head atm. I’d probably go East Beast to pair with my Behringer Crave for two systems that work together a bit more straightforward

People need to disassociate “price & sound”; we’re like hamsters on the hamster-wheels when we don’t associate quality of sound with proper audio palate taste 👅 for music. What is your sound and the quality of that sound has to be characterized by the element of the sound itself and the effect it produces, otherwise we become shallow and a good sound is judged by the price tag!! 👅👀❤️

I bought both but I'm not ready to call it yet. I need to get more proficient but as far as the sound I don't think the West Pest sounds very good. That could change though.
