I recently found your channel and have really been enjoying your content. Unlike most diecast streamers you have deep, working knowledge of the castings AND the vehicles they are based on. That plus your laid back, anti-hype style make your videos stand out among the typical noise being produced today. A few vids back you said collectors should collect what we like and be happy with what we find, not pissed off at what we don’t, and those words of wisdom have given me a new outlook on what can be a frustrating hobby if you let it. Thanks for the contributions to the collecting community and keep up the great work!👍
I have collected Code 3 Fire Trucks. I have around 50 of them going back to 1997. Most purchased from Code 3 Direct/Code 3 Collectors Club. Certain hobby shops such as one in Chicago sold them as well as the FDNY Store in NYC. Code 3 over produced their diecast and released "found in warehouse" sold out items even after they were thought to be all gone, this was especially true with the Super Pumper set. This brought down the value of the vehicles. The FDNY models sealed in box retain the most value.
Two thumbs up!!! How do you know so much about cars/trucks? Are you a mechanic? Car historian? Anyway... you are right about Code 3 fire trucks... they are awesome. I found one at a second hand store still in its original box for $20. That was my find of the month!
That cab driver needs to watch out for those curbs. I wish Greenlight would re-release the black Maruder. I think the M2 dually beds look too long behind the rear fender. That firetruck is sick. I use the biggest, fluffliest paint brush I could get at the hobby/craft store for dusting, some use the biggest make-up brush. Great models!
very cool I was lucky enough to buy a large code three collection a few years ago. also came with an assortment of yatming road legends 1/64 trucks. great video
I have this one! I just got it about a week ago. I got this one along with the dark green Dodge Monaco Taxi featured during the same chase scene - both in 1/18. I'm thinking about getting that A-Team van next, lol!

Hello Mig, Have you seen the yellow version of the Greenlight Suburban yet?, I just bought one, not seen one anywhere else, so I will be stoked wen it arrives. Even though I did pay a little more than retail for it. I was lucky to get the black version with the red stripe, and the version towing the boat, there is a fire Chief version coming. I would like one, but I would not pay over the odds for it.
That Regal is nice very close to the Racing Champions version. I bought 1 in the late 90’s or early 00’s at Biglots. No luck finding M2 trucks in any local stores.
I quite like the 1:43 HW, but they are quite pricey, none have shown up here yet, the orange one interest me, what car is that?. Thanks for bringing these to my attention, I agree with your cash value thoughts on diecast. I open my stuff like you, as resale has little interest for me, but I don have some rare stuff, I could sell if things get tight, but I would never find them again.
I have a few AHL models, they are hard to find in the UK, I have never seen that Ford Tanker before, if I had, I would have bought it, I do have a killer Stanley Tool yellow Mack truck and a Hersheys Mack truck from different years by AHL. I agree, they are well made and worth the money. I just got hold of 3 premium combat medics at mainline prices, so I switched the bases, with nicer livery mainline versions. Its not a straight swap, as there are some differences in the casting, but I made it happen, with some filling and cutting. I have only been able to get one M2 G10 van as yet, the Competition Cams 4x4 version, but I did get two. I hope to find other versions, but its not looking like I will find anymore, here in the UK.
3o8 GTSi 2-valves per cylinder, so pre QV model. The 210 bhp claimed , in reality apparently the actual figure was way below, so.e say even S low as 170-175 bhp. Nowadays the drop in power is almost insignificant, 250 and 240 being just as unimpressive to a point where it doesn't matter if igz 210 bhp claimed. You don't buy a 308 GTB / GTS for performance nowadays especially when considering it wZ hardly impressive whe. It wS new. You buy it merely because it's the most beautiful car of all time.
@@viktoriabegg3968 they are still out there. this one was one of the first or second 1/18 wagons greenlight did, the white grand marquis i think was first. i keep up with my favorite mfg's so i know what cars they are going to release before they become available. I was looking out for these when they were released so i could buy them before they got sold out. It did surprise me though how much they are going for now. while these cars a cool they have some inaccuracies. but since they are the only ones ever cast i can see why they are now so sought after. maybe greenlight will release these again and you will be able to get one. Keep eye on ebay.
It’s a nice model and I just bought the 2017 version Greenlight made. Unfortunately, they changed it to a black interior but they did correct the rear deck lights to amber/red. We didn’t start using the blue deck lights until the early 80s. The Camaro’s engine didn’t hold up during the test period so it was not purchased for statewide use. Instead the 82 Ford SSP Mustang was selected for statewide deployment and I drove it on patrol until its last model year in 93.
Thanks Mig, next video can you explain your method to paint the interiors, if you use a plastic primer and best type paint to use etc? Love AW and MiniGT but their interiors are a bit plain, although I know it’s to keep the cost down
Miniature painting brands are formulated for tiny details, so I recommend Vallejo Game Color, which should be readily available in a huge range of colors. Wash and scrub the interior down, because these plastics might have releasing agents on them that also push away paint. Try painting first without primer and try out if you need to thin the paint down a little with water to avoid brushstrokes on bigger surfaces. If the paint doesn't adhere or if it dries uneven in texture or color, get a light or medium grey polyurethane primer in a spraycan. Watch some videos on priming wargaming miniatures. Also, always use brushes as fullbodied as possible! Tiny detail brushes of size 0 or below, to me, are basically a scam. For your purpose, a smaller filbert brush might be a weapon.
Hello - love the video, just found this 4 years on! The Mercedes 300E hood emblem missing? No! This is a first issue from 1987 which had no badge. The 1988 onwards issue had the emblem, so the one you have is the earlier car. Enjoy it - it's fabulous!
The AW 2023 Release 4 set was reported to have lead paint on them, so AW told retailers to destroy/discard the cars they received... so most people were never able to buy them. It's unclear if the set is lost forever or if AW is currently remaking the set to sell in the future.
I have the complete set of Blazer/Jimmy set. I did change wheels on the red one with mags looks better. I also changed wheels on the orange one with gold wheels looks better. I also put mags on the black one with flames. Looks better too.
Would love to see M2 do a dually truck and trailer with a couple of zero turn mowers. There are a lot of people that are in the mowing business. I think a mini version would sell great! Thanks for videos.
Mig, this is why I enjoy your channel(unlike the MTL diecast cafe' "all about me me me" site, n several others). You are down to earth n try your best to explain the ins n outs of the diecasts and in reference to the actual real vehicle. It's knowledgeable n educational. I'm jus sick of these sites where the whole segment is about "look what I got today with my patreon members $$$ that they gave me!" ☮️ Thanx for your insight and great content. 👍🏻

That Mustang - talking about the real car if it exists - looks like a modern pop song sounds like. There's a little bit of everything, but nothing's done right. The same goes for the Challenger. What design feature do you want? Yes! I dpn't wanna get into details about shapes and color theory here... Your video of course, as always, is beyond any doubt. I love watching them no matter what you present because YOU like this stuff and you present backgrounds I'm always interested in. I binge your old videos as if your channel was on Netflix in 2017.
