Thanks for the catch up Lainie. i’m really looking forward to seeing your compilation of the last five years, what a time you’ve had. It’s great that you’re hosting another charity event in October too. My favourite is still the resellers around the world, timed to perfection and so many people got involved, it was brilliant.
Great news that you are doing the charity event. Also it will be interesting to see footage from your 5 years on utube. Take Care Greetings from your Liverpool mate.
Bless you ,i can relate to your frustration lainie ,im having simular issues with the nhs in my district useless in a word ,but keep fighting them ,ive even threatened legal action ,which hopefully seems to of woken them up ,you stay positive and dont be pushed about by them ,have a good old cry ,i do ,i think its helps ,in some way as makes me feel better afterwards ,look after yourself xx
If you have the Ocado app complain. Do you have xpert book for diabetes blood glucose control? They will increase the dose over time. Mine was similar to that and has fallen. Make sure you rotate your sites. The insulin will make a difference - you go through several waking up periods. It took around 2 months to get to my current dose. Don’t worry about the sugar in food - it makes very little difference.
If you want to cry then its fine. Never apologise for being upset. Its the Inefficiency of people in the NHS who dont connect with other people in different departments to keep them up to date is shocking. My dad gets care 4 times a day from when he came out of hospital as he is housebound. So many people and departments that have come to see my dad or phone up and some of them dont match up the right facts which takes twice as long to sort.
Aww Lainie! Big hugs coming your way. My good friend Anne says why dont they try semiglutide as that can be v effective.altho you may have explored that one already. Healing vibes on their way x
Thanks, Heather. I haven't tried Semiglutide. They say the insulin is temporary to bring my sugars down 6 days in, and there is no change, but I'm on a very low dose, so hopefully, they will get it back down then change me.back to medication. X
It’s good of you to update us Lainie. I greatly admire your fortitude. I despair at the breakdown not only of the NHS but of the care system and the inefficiency of people and the way departments are run in a shockingly inefficient way. Thousands of people are paying for private care now as they are desperate and will get loans out to get health care. Guess what. There are longer and longer queues for paying patients now. On a happier note, I must look back at Nic and Andrea’s video. I remember the fox poo incident like it was yesterday. Well done on finding some low calorie low sugar tasty things. I’m on low carbs and it’s not easy. Chat soon. Lots of love 💕
Never apologise for being upset. It’s really bad that you are being seen as a number rather than a person. How would these people feel if it was their relative that was being treated this way? It makes me so angry. You are doing brilliantly, we love you, keep on going as best you can ❤
I ate very low carb for 3 and a half years to get my metabolic health back - less than 20g a day of carbs. I still eat lower carb but have upped my carb levels which I can now without worry of damaging my health. I am now 6 years low carb and do not eat any processed food. To get your blood sugars under control you will need to stop eating the bread, grains, rice and high sugar fruit like bananas, starchy vegetables that grow above ground like potatoes, beans etc as they will spike your blood sugar - the carbs covert to sugar when eaten and your body does not distinguish between fruit sugars and table sugar!. There is a channel called beat diabetes that would help you (it is an american channel but he knows what to eat from experience of being diabetic) - I was pre-diabetic and it really helped me, but if you decide to go very low carb you need to do this with your doctors help as they need to monitor your medications and health while eating this way. Once you lose your taste for sugar you will not be addicted to sugar. I used to have 2 teaspoons of sugar in my coffee, now I can't stand sweet things. I tried some coke a few weeks ago and could not drink it it tasted awful to me. I think it is crazy you have to wait so long for the insulin!
For hair thickening watch Nanny Skely 30 she's a 75 yr old from Liverpool at is SO funny 😂 really has some good tips on EVERYTHING. and has a very good sense of humour!!! She. Cheers me up A LOT. Lotsalove Linlin 😘 XXXXXXXX

Missed live, sorry I missed it. So pleased you had a lovely birthday. Hope all goes well with the tribunal . Your looking and sounding very much happier. Your a Champion off the utube community 👏
Thanks for your lovely message Lainie. This video was special, your celebration of your brother’s wedding … I’m speechless 🎈🤣🍾🥳👏👏👏I have been monitoring my blood sugar and had a zoom appointment with diabetic nurse. The main cause of high blood sugar is carbs. Because I don’t move a lot carbs can’t be burnt off. I’ve been given a plan where I can only eat 50g or less of carbs a day. Very little bread, pasta, rice, potato, the list goes on. I’ve had the disc put onto my arm for 14 days. Libre 2 it’s called and it monitored my glucose levels on a graph on my phone for two weeks. Metformin takes a while to get used to and I had slow release tablets which I got used to. I was told once on insulin always on it but I’m not sure that’s correct. My eyesight is practically non existent so I’m going to have to get my head around a new way of eating to preserve my vision. I’ve given up sugar and if I have any as a treat I feel horrible. I’m not losing weight because I’m eating cheese and nuts. Crisps are too carby. Doctor said no carbs for breakfast so I’m sick of eggs and avocado and salad. Anyhow, I’m sure we will compare notes soon but it’s the carbs. A plate of rice has 9 spoons of sugar. I noticed you had sour dough bread which is lower carb I’ve not tried it yet. As for the Greek yogurt some have more sugar than others but I put a spoonful of options drink powder in mine sometimes. Or berries. They are better for us than other fruit. Lemon slice in hot water first thing brings down blood sugar. There are lots of Facebook groups and you tube channels for diabetics. Sorry for the essay I was on a roll. Not a bread one obviously 😂tell Susan I’m on my way off of the Diet Coke. Not gone cold turkey yet but that day will come soon. Honestly. Life is like a box of chocolates… with fecking empty wrappers in xxx
Delighted to hear from Lainie that I've inspired you to try to get off the poison/diet coke. Good luck with the cold turkey day Joan, I'm willing you on!
Hi Lainie. Wow.....the Summer Solstice and your birthday together! How portentous. Surely a sign of good things to come, is it not? I'm sorry to hear about your appeal not being settled. Nevertheless, I hope you had a terrific birthday!
