He did say it was an in-line 4, didn't he? Didn't he? Mind you, bit of a daft question. I don't think Ducati have ever made an in-line 4. Anyone who knows what a Ducati is would know that (let alone a Ducati owner).
Yeah, I get it. You should definitely know the specs of a bike you own. I have no desire researching information about Ducatis. I will never own one, so what's the point. Too busy with life and actually riding my motorcycle.
Literbikes are fun, but totally unnecessary... You have a bike that does a legit 155mph on a good day. How much faster do you need to go? Straight line speeds on the interstate will get boring. And going faster will just get you in a grave, or in prison sooner or later. I say stay on the 636 and find some better roads to ride. Find a place with turns, or do track days, and put that bike in the environment that it was designed for. Any knucklehead can pin the throttle and hang on going down a wide, flat highway... In the twisties is where the fun is at, and its where a 600 shines... There is a saying, straights are for fast bikes, but turns are for fast riders. Anyone can buy a fast bike, but not everyone can be a fast rider. Get that bike in its element and see if you really think you need to upgrade... In a tight twisty road, the 1000 won't be any faster than the 600.
I don't know I think most 600s are capable of hitting 160. I enjoy doing it all. Twisties, track and performance highway riding. I just love to ride. I want a faster bike because I enjoy speed and I'm a motorcycle enthusiast. I'm considering a ZX-14r or a Hayabusa. I don't want just another super sport.
@@imthatguy4011 160mph is pushing it on a 600. Remember the speedo error is 5-8% high on average... But that aside, the big bikes are fun... I sold my ZX14R and MT-10 and got a 2024 Ducati Streetfighter V2... The Busa has a much better electronics package than the ZX14r, which doesn't even have a quickshifter... But both are fast and fun, but they are hefty in the turns. We are talking 150lbs heavier than your 600, easily... That really does impact handling. A cool bike you might want to check out is the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100rr. Gives you a nice comfortable position, brilliant V4 sound, and enough fairing and wind protection to still do high speed stuff... Amazing all around bike for touring, shredding mountain roads and track days.... it does everything...
Yeah, but you made a good point the maintenance on the Aprilia it's going to be too expensive. I tried out the Hayabusa and I loved it. I have not yet ridden the zx-14r.... But I'm sure I would love it just as much. It's a Kawasaki how can I not.
@@imthatguy4011 I enjoyed my ZX14R, but if I was gonna do it again I would be the Busa. The 14 is an amazing bike, but its basically a 2012 model... It has no modern stuff on it, and in 2024, I feel like it should.
@@LoopsFroott an L-Twin is basically a V2 but rotatetd forward so 1 cylinder almost lays down completely. ducati just calles it an l-twin for branding reasons :)
Wait, I just watched that and he said Inline 4... lol Wow. Ducati doesn't make an inline 4, and I don't know that they ever have. That's weird that he would spend that money on a Ducati and not know anything about it... Ducati offers L Twins and V4's... and now they have a single cyl motard...
@@imthatguy4011 Yeah, the L-Twin has been their iconic design for generations.. but in order to keep up in racing against the I4's, they needed a 4 of their own, so they came up with their V4, that now appears in the Panigale, Diavel, Multistrada and the Streetfighter... Their Panigale V4R with the optional Akra exhaust, cranks out 234hp. It's completely mental.... lol
@@imthatguy4011 You'd have to be very new not to notice the difference between riding a four and a twin. They are not remotely similar, although I haven't tried the Italian V4s like the Aprilia and the Panigale. But in-line? Seriously...
It's an L twin, not parallel. My wife had that bike, and its the same 937cc motor she has in her Monster+... Makes around 111hp at the crank, nice torque though, and comfortable AF. It's not the same motor that's in my Streetfighter V2 or the Panigale V2. Similar size L twin, but mine makes 153hp at the crank...
@@SludgedB Maybe 30 years ago... Not any more. Modern Ducati's are extremely reliable. Had 14 of them now... The new Multistrada V4, the first valve check is 37,000 miles.
I have a Yamaha R3 and a Ducati 950S. Both are great, and no problems with either of them. Sadly a lot of people want to keep trying to convince themselves and others that they should only buy Japanese. Buy whatever you want - modern machines are generally reliable enough that it is just personal preference now. That said, I have heard that some Honda Goldwings haven’t been so lucky lately…
@@rns6889 I had the 2019 Panigale 959 and then went through like 7 or 8 bikes and am now on the SF V2. Had 35 motorcycles since 2005, plus 13 or 14 from my wife.
I had a 2018 V4 1100rr with a BrenTune package and it was brutal fun... I would not own another one due to common valve issues they have... If you ride them hard or do track days, you need to do the valves every 6k miles or after 2 track days... Gets expensive REALLY fast. Which is a shame, as it's one of the best street bikes you can buy. Dealer near us is selling them for $13k plus taxes, which is crazy...
I think that CFMoto is gonna be a major player. They do some of the motor manufacturing for KTM, so they are legit... The amount of nice parts you get for the money is pretty crazy... Supposedly they are working on a 1000cc V4, probably based loosely off KTM's MotoGP motor... If they do that at a good price point, that could turn the superbike market on its head. One of their chief designers, came from Ducati and he played a role in the Panigale design... so again, pretty legit...
It has 54ft/lbs of torque, which isn't much. Most literbikes are 80+, and the ZX14 is like 108ft/lbs... It's the gearing that makes it feel so punchy... Short wheelbase, light weight and REALLY short gearing... Gearing is a force multiplier, so what torque it has, it uses very well, at the expense of higher speeds...
If it takes no skill then put out a video of you ripping your ZX14 on the highway. I would love to see it. But I don't think you're going to do it because you're a p****
@@imthatguy4011 Because like others have noted, just going in straight lines down the interstate is BORING. A monkey can do it. Clearly. lol I was doing faster down the limited straight away on Road Atlanta, than you were topped out on a wide open interstate... It's all on video. You aren't CTG. You will never be CTG. Stop trying so hard to be something that you are not.
@@imthatguy4011 Turns are where the fun is at. Going fast in a straight line on the interstate, is boring... I am going faster down a race track with elevation changes and turns, than you do topped out on the highway, and my straight away on that track is WAY shorter... lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uEZC57VofJ4.htmlsi=ihtRx7P6JPzId5G3
@@imthatguy4011 The comments here will help your views... I could ask viewers to come check out your vids, but the majority of the responses are likely to be negative, so I won't. If you enjoy going down the highway in light traffic, that's fine. You do you. A lot of us find that boring, and the notion of going to prison, not all that appealing. We will go fast up in the mtns where the turns are, as that requires more skill and you can have a blast without having to do 150mph. We save the truly fast stuff for the race track. As they say, straights are for fast bikes. Turns are for fast riders. Anyone can buy a fast bike. I have two currently and have owned dozens more... R1, Panigale, Tuono V4 1100rr, Ducati 1198, CBR1Krr and others... A quick blast down the highway is fun for a few seconds I guess... but it gets boring fast. Shit, I did 150 in the car the other day before backing out, as my exit was coming... You do it once in awhile just for giggles, but up in the twisties is where the real fun is at, for me at least. I think that if you lived in a state with turns you would feel differently. I get it, FL is straight and flat and you are just making the best of what's available...
LOL! everyone is asking this squid to us this video and he is like hell yeah you can use it. He fails to realize they are using it in their "How not to ride" and "How to get yourself killed" vids.
@@imthatguy4011 LOL. The only thing you are living in is the squid squad. You are the typical "I got my first bike EVERYONE LOOK I GOT A BIKE. I'm going to act like I know what I'm doing. I'm going to be looking over my shoulder constantly hoping someone behind me give me a thumbs up for my amazing riding skills. I'm going to act like I am going so fast I have to lean my bike the opposite way to make it seem like I changed lanes so fast I almost flew off the road. Yeah every is going to think I am so cool." I all reality everyone is like "This guy is a clown that will wreck his bike in no time." But hey if you want to meet up I will be at deals gap June 1st to the 8th. I'm staying at the Iron Horse lodge. I can give you some lessons on how to actually ride.
@@retiredarmyvet2018 what are you going to teach me how go slow and make a boring video?. Dude you suck you're not that great of a rider I'm way better than you and I'm a squid 😂
@@imthatguy4011 The first step in fixing your problem is admitting you have one. So glad to see you have taken the first step. Now learn how to hold your line and how to shift properly.
