Always get your coconut opened by the people where you buy the coconut. A coconut has two little 'eyes' at the top which they should have opened for you. City boy meets the island way of life. Good vid.

But local drinks, or coffee or tea. Some things on islands are more expensive when imported, yet most stuff will be very cheap. Eg, bottle of wine like 1$ in Portugal island in Azores, but can of coke like 3$ etc. Highly recommend another form for caffeine, with 10$ you could get whole meal, snack and a trinket there. Coffee or tea and a multivitamin 👌😸😁
You want to know what’s crazy though? There is a bar in Vanuatu that played your video when I was there (today) as entertainment for those at the bar. Good job bro, but I reckon in Vana you’re a celebrity! Keep it up!

I just visited last January1st , got I lot expectations but did not like it , nil friendly people, drunks over the grass , a cruise boat with 4000 passengers, no food store open. Sometimes people deserve to be poor...
You have no idea how great the place is people who live here are amazing how dare you say they deserve to be poor they work hard on their land as well as to supply friendly service to you idiots we stay here every 2 years and stay 3 or 4 weeks have a good look at yourself selfish selves you over opioned people can't wait to be with this wonderful lot of people Kym Brookes
I've had 3 big mac meals at different Mcdonalds in Sri Lanka and they have all been stale buns and 2 tiny tear drops of sauce. Also, no fresh orange juice or juice of any sort - only sodas which I don't drink. The best McDonalds I have been to has been on the Portuguese island of Madeira. I wonder if the McDonalds head office in the USA are aware what these guys in Sri Lanka are up to?
You can find hotels & pubs with $15-$20 lunch specials. Look for hotels which have poker machines because they usually subsidize the cost of food. Three of my favourite drinking holes are: 1) The Albion which includes a beer or soft drink with the $15 meal. 2) The Mercantile Irish pub at the bottom of the Harbour Bridge which has daily $15 specials. 3) The Crystal Palace (directly opposite the Wake Up hostel) which has the Mixed Grill special on Thursdays for $20. Forget the smashed avo on toast. This mixed grill includes steak, chicken fillet, bacon, lamb and pork chops, an egg, salad and fries served with your choice of gravy. You won't need another meal for 24hrs after eating it.
